After a recent experience with a leaking mattress and The Waterbed Doctor’s response, I highly recommend them because they stood behind their warranty. We purchased the mattress in 2017 and when we noticed a small pool of water in the corner of the liner while changing the sheets, we began tracing its origin. After soaking up the water with a bath towel, we placed a paper towel between the corner seam of the mattress and the liner and soon noticed a small wet spot on the paper towel. From past experience we learned how Flex Tape can temporarily halt or slow a leak, so we purchased a roll and applied a piece to the corner seam where we thought it was leaking. This initially worked at slowing the leak, but within a few days we had more water. At this point I contacted The Waterbed Doctor to ask if the mattress was still under warranty. I explained that we no longer had the receipt or the warranty information. The person with whom I spoke was very helpful, found our account, and informed me that, yes, the mattress was still under warranty for seam leaks. She explained the return process--that I needed to purchase a new mattress, cut out a ‘leak strip’ from the old mattress that included the mattress label and the corner of the mattress where it was leaking, ship them the ‘leak strip’ (at my expense), that they would confirm the leak in the corner seam, and, upon that confirmation, refund my purchase price of the new mattress minus the cost of shipping the new mattress. I followed their instructions and mailed the strip. After a couple of weeks went by without hearing from them (the holidays), I contacted them on the status of my refund, only to initially hear that they could not find the leak in the corner seam that I sent and that they were going to send it over to the manufacturer for a closer look, who, likewise, could not confirm the leak. After several conversations with The Waterbed Doctor staff, they agreed to refund the purchase price of the new mattress, as the warranty states, even though they could not confirm the leak. I especially want to thank Marty Pojar for his willingness to return my phone calls and work toward a resolution of this issue. It is for these reasons that we will continue to purchase products from The Waterbed Doctor and why we highly recommend them to others.

Read moreExcellent! Just set up my dual free-flow bladders, in my new queen size soft-side mattress, and I couldn't be happier. I'd always had hard side waterbeds, but couldn't get out so easy, anymore, so decided to try the soft side. What a difference. I can get out easily, and with the dual bladders, I don't bother hubby when I get up at night, or back in.
The foam surround supports me as I get in and out, and I don't feel like I'm gonna fall off the edge. Dual bladders are the best thing. I can make one side firm, and the other side sloshy, and soft. I love a bit of movement in my waterbed, so Marty was great about getting me the free flow in the dual bladders. It's not on the menu, but all I did was ask, and he got it ASAP. I'm so happy I asked.
Hard to find a waterbed store locally, and the one option I did find, had a foam top that felt weird to me, and they wanted easily 50% more than online, so I'm delighted I took the risk. So far, the topper on this bed is wildly more comfy than the one in the store, and the fabric looks like it will hold up over time (which the other did not give that impression). I like that the topper zips off, so I can eventually change it, if need be - without ripping apart the entire bed.
I was concerned about the foam topper being hot, but certainly when you first get in, it does not - it's quite cool - like a regular bed. After several hours, I do find I'm getting a bit warmer than I care for, but nothing horrible. Only been up a few days, so time will tell on that.
I was aiming for the name brand mattress, but Marty steered me to the store brand, and I'm perfectly delighted with it. He seems to know what he's doing, and helped me get exactly what I wanted, at a price I was willing to pay.
Thanks...
