Well, I've never been a fan of all you can eat anything. My friend likes this place so I went. The sushi was almost all variations of a California Roll with loads of sauces all over the sushi. Weird names too like the Jessica Alba roll. Like Jessica Alba would stop in this tiny hole in the wall in Westminster, California in order sushi second class at that.
Just not good sushi poor quality and stupid high prices, the All you can eat was $30. Normally Monday through Friday they offer that for $26. Now this was not cool either there is no sign of any kind or verbiage on any paper or menu that says Saturday and Sunday. There is no $4 off or $26 for the sushi You pay full price for all you can eat. Here's another grind as well. The sushi is just packed and packed with rice like Super overloaded to use less true fillings like Spicy Tuna or anything else in general? On our last order I specifically told the gentleman. Please this is our last order. Can we go easy on the rice on the rolls?. He said I'm sorry we can't honor that request. It's a shame when you're paying a good price for something like sushi for two people and the totals $68 $70 and you probably consume 24 rolls all together that even when you order your last serving, they pack it and pack it and pack it with rice. So your really just not getting your money's worth.
Needless to say... I'LL NEVER BE BACK TO THIS PLACE THE SUSHI SUCKS WAY OVERPRICED PACKED WITH RICE YOU REALLY GET RIPPED OFF AND VERY POOR QUALITY...
Read moreI've definitely had great, fresh, well put together, delicious sushi from my hometown Vegas so I know what decent sushi tastes like, so I was hyped to try this place considering the great reviews it had and wasn't too far from newport beach and usually cali food doesn't disappoint. Sad to say I wasn't happy with the sushi at all. We did 2 AYCE and 1 a la carte. it's $30 per person so around the normal price for AYCE sushi, but it hurt paying a $80 bill for such sad poor sushi. Not worth it.. The fish wasn't fresh, some had weird chewy texture? Some of it was warm too when it's supposed to be cold. Some of the fish seemed half cooked too when it's supposed to be raw? I was grossed out and we only did that one and only round of sushi orders. Either Way too much rice or too little. The sushi rolls fall apart so easily! Not well put together. The service was meh for sure, our waitress disappeared for most of the time. Our table got checked on only twice within the 1hr and 30mins of us eating. The variety of sushi is not good either. Most seemed like the basic cali roll with a bunch of different toppings and sauces then called it something else. Overall not worth it, avoid. If you visit vegas, Sakana is THE spot. Just long wait times to get...
Read moreI'm pregnant & was craving sushi hard! Since I don't have many options, considering mercury content & it has to be efficiently cooked so there is no bacteria... I was SO HAPPY when we found Maru after realizing Maki Yaki wasn't open on Sundays. I couldn't believe the options I had. I ordered miso, 3 rolls plus a handroll, the caterpillar roll, the tiger roll, their baked salmon roll (I can't remember the name of) & a shrimp tempura handroll. Being pregnant & in the first trimester, it is hard to find anything consistent enough in flavor to not be nauseating. Well, I'm excited to say I liked everything! The only negative thing I can really say is that their Tiger Roll didn't taste how I expected it to, though my man absolutely loved it & ate it right up. I assume it's just me being used to how i usually have it & this one was prepared differently. To me, it was too sweet. But the caterpillar roll & salmon roll were absolutely delicious. The hand roll was also great, though the seaweed wrap was a little hard to bite through so it kind of fell apart, it tasted absolutely amazing! We will definitely be back & the fiance is just happy that he found a meal he can bring home without me bitching about or...
