Important Edit: I am raising my rating to 5 stars and adding photos to illustrate how the drawers can be opened. Within a short time of posting my original review, I received a phone call and email with photos from China Furniture. I am now completely satisfied. My pulls were quite stiff, but once I got them to open they are working fine. I appreciate their prompt follow-up and I am now a very "Zen" customer. And, if you purchase this lovely item, you will know the secret to the drawer pulls! My original review follows: I found the web site very user-friendly and the sales staff with whom I interacted via phone very helpful in arranging delivery within the small window of time I was available. The "Zen" sideboard is a beautiful piece of furniture. It is a real statement piece--Simple in design but also quite elegant in my foyer. My only disappointment was in the poor functionality of the four drawers. Once the sideboard was in place, I could not immediately see how to open the drawers. In fact, the delivery man commented that they must be faux drawers. In the photos it looked like the small brass rectangles were drawer handles or pulls, but they are only decorative by design. To open the drawers, one must first open the cabinet doors below and then reach-in under each drawer and push them open from the bottom. It seems inconvenient to have to open cabinet doors before simply reaching in a drawer to retrieve a teaspoon or napkin. It just seemed so counterintuitive especially when "Zen" means a state of calmness in which one's actions are guided by intuition rather than conscious effort--Just my opinion hence only 4 stars. We ordered a black lacquer 59" sideboard for our new home. The ordering process was very easy and we were able to make payment via our credit card. The company personnel kept us abreast of the status of our order as it was prepared for shipment. We were advised by the company of the anticipated arrival date which was within a month of the order. On arrival via truck, the piece was taken off the truck, uncrated and prepared for delivery into the house. This service was extra and a bit costly but necessary as the piece weighed in excess of 400 lbs. We inspected the pieces completely, inside and out and found it to be acceptable. The drivers brought it into the house and positioned it where we wanted. They even took the time to allow us to put pads on the four feet of the unit so as not to scratch our floors. The piece is exquisite in every way and exactly what we wanted for that place in our home. It is highly functional for us but is much, much more. It is a work of art in and of itself. It makes a statement to all who visit our home. We are very pleased. Moreover, the cost was in line with what any other like piece of furniture would cost or a bit less.
