12/18/24 update: I came in again to try more items. I tried 3 more empanadas (ground beef, ham, egg, and cheese, and last sausage, egg, and cheese), coxinha, and brigadeiro. Empanadas were all fantastic. Coxinhas were fried but the insides were creamy chicken flavor. Must try. The brigadeiro was a fudge ball. Soft texture with rich chocolate taste. It is sweet so I recommend eating one at a time not all at once.

So, I actually came here when the place used to be the Sweet and Savory Spot. When I looked up the address for the Bacuri Bakery, I was a little shocked they were in the same spot. Anyways, I decided to come here for breakfast. Ample amount of parking. When you walk inside, you order at the counter and then pick up your food when it’s ready. Seating wise, it’s sufficient because most people just grab their food and go. I ordered bauru sandwich, 3 empanadas (3 for $12), Guarana drink, and pao de queijo (5 for $4.50). Prices were reasonable. Service was very friendly.
-bauru sandwich 5 - it has ham, havarti cheese, tomato, and oregano. Great sandwich for breakfast but can also be for lunch. It’s filling and delicious. -empanadas 5 - all of the empanadas are generous sizes Guava and cheese 5 - the guava taste is very prominent. It’s not sweet but it is slightly tart with the cheese. Spinach, mushroom, and feta 5 - tons of spinach and feta. It’s a good way to balance out your diet since you’ll get your greens. Chorizo, egg, and cheese 5 - this is a great empanada to start off the day. Loaded with fillings. -pao de queijo 5 - these are just like the ones you find at places like Fogo de Chao and other Brazilian steakhouses. These are house made and are...
Read moreMy bestie suggested for us to visit Bacuri Bakery since she lives 5 minutes away and it was probably one of the best decisions we've made on a restaurant in a long time. I had one of the best experience. From the adorable location of the Bakery, to the wonderful service and lets not forget the super delicious food!
Inside of the place consist of about 4 tables and some high tops. It's in a cute little house with a rustic feel of wood that I love. A IG worthy name wall and super clean! Which is very important to me.
The gentleman behind the counter was soooo nice, friendly, knowledgeable and I wonder if he's the owner but I am all about supporting local small businesses. I would come back for the service alone!
I don't eat meat so I ordered the Portobello, red pepper and havarti cheese sandwich. My bestie ordered the ham and cheese and both was amazing!!! Mine wasn't overly salty, cheese was gooey, mushrooms and peppers was deliciously seasoned and best of all, the sandwich was crispy to the bite!
Free parking right outside of the restaurant and free water for your convenience. I already have a coffee but we both took some pulled pork, chicken and spinach empanadas to go and everything was amazing! 10/10 on everything! Can't wait to bring my family to try the sweets and other stuff like acai bowl, cookies, cake jar and much much more!!! Please stop in and try it for yourself! You will fall in love! I know I did! Thank you Bacuri Bakery! I...
Read moreAdorable new Brazilian bakery in downtown Westmont, conveniently located next to the Westmont Metra train station.
Great service and delicious Brazilian sweet and savory baked goods as well as an espresso coffee bar featuring a walk-up window.
On our first visit we ordered a set of 3 empanadas: beef, spinach, and the Frida Khalo bean empanadas as well as an order of coxinha, fried shredded chicken dumplings.
Empanadas were served warmed and fresh, not greasy, and were absolutely stuffed! I really liked that they were well seasoned and not bland, which can be the case at some empanada shops.
The coxinha were very good, fried but not too greasy, and were stuffed with chicken - I get why they’re popular in Brazil!
For a sweet treat we ordered two coffees: an espresso and a latte to go… and a piece of chocolate cake.
The espresso was nice and strong and the latte was delicious, perfect pairings for the chocolate cake, which was well frosted and moist.
We’ll certainly be back! It was busy since it was their first week, so the team was just getting a hang of things but overall a wonderful addition to Westmont’s downtown.
My only request: could you install a bike rack so I can ride my bike over for a midday coffee and...
