Clarendon Vision Advanced EyeCare has helped my vision challenges over the years with the highest degree of quality and precision. My case is somewhat complex, but the care and therapy I have received has been remarkably helpful to me.

I first saw Dr. Monika Spokas in 2018 (I had previously been travelling a longer distance to Michigan to receive specialized care for my eye muscle imbalances since 2010). It was encouraging to visit her because her team specializes in advanced neuro-optometry, quality vision therapy and the use of prism glasses. Their offices are fortunately close to my home.

Generally speaking, my challenges would be characterized as "binocular vision dysfunction (BVD)", which is an eye condition that occurs when the eyes are misaligned, making it difficult for the brain to process visual information.

My daughter has a diagnosis convergence insufficiency and was seeing a previous eye doctor a couple of times a year who prescribed glasses, school accommodations, and gave us some exercises to do at home but never showed us how to do them or told us the importance of doing them. After 3 years of my daughter still having trouble with her vision and calling us in tears on testing days at school, we knew we had to find something better for her. I scheduled an initial appointment and started the evaluation process. My daughter was recommended to do 6 months of vision therapy with Vanessa and so we started. She was in 7th grade when we started and she took all of her therapy sessions and at home exercises seriously and made amazing progress over the time she was in therapy. She followed the program to a T and graduated a couple of weeks early. Her stamina for school is a million times better than it was before. She no longer gets exhausted or gets headaches. She no longer dreads testing (at least not any more than the average kid).
