My mother-in-law recently dropped our vacuum off to be serviced and my father-in-law picked it up. When we went to grab it from him we discovered that it was definitely NOT our vacuum. We dropped off a two year old vacuum in pristine condition (I only took the plastic sticker off the machine three months ago). My father-in-law picked up a scratched up, paint covered vacuum of a different color entirely (grey when ours is black). He didn't notice the difference since he was picking up their vacuum as well as ours, but once everyone gave it a good look we noticed all the problems.
The next day my father-in-law called (my in-laws bought the vacuum for us as a gift and handle the warranty services) and was told that the serial number on the bottom matches our purchase order, so it must be our vacuum.
It's obvious that they serviced two vacuums of the same brand at the same time and accidentally switched the bottom plates. Our entire family purchases our vacuums from here and bring them here regularly for servicing. I am hopeful that they will track down our vacuum and rectify...
Read moreWe have been customers at this location for years and they never disappoint. Our Orecks have seldom needed service but when they do it has always been taken care of on an efficient and timely basis at this store. Most recently we brought our 2020 Oreck in because of a problem with the switch. Geiger explained the issue to us and reminded us that we had a seven year warranty (we had forgotten). He also reminded us that we are entitled to a free yearly tuneup for the first seven years of ownership (we had forgotten that too). Long story short, the new handle and switch were covered by the warranty and the tuneup found some minor things that we took care of before they became problems. Total cost less than $70. That was a great result. Geiger and Sue are very knowledgeable and personable. Go to this store and you won’t be...
Read moreI was having trouble hunting down the correct bags and filter for my great, great aunt’s canister vac from the 1970s. (Yes, it is still working!) My mom mentioned that there was a vacuum store nearby, so I called The Vac Shop in Westmont and spoke to Paul. He said he’d look into it and I mentioned I’d come by over the weekend to discuss.
Wow…what a pleasant surprise when I stopped by on Saturday. Paul had not only located the bags, but he had them transferred to Westmont for me. He even cleaned out the old vacuum for me and made a suggestion on what to do with the hard-to-find filter. What an amazing surprise to have those bags ready and waiting for me! This is the type of service that is so few and far between these days. Thank you, Paul! You have my business...
