The Gem Mine — Local services in Westwood

I absolutely adore this place! I am not from the area, and was there for my partner’s job training. I was looking for something to do to pass time, and am so glad I discovered this shop! The staff is so knowledgeable and exceptionally friendly to customers, and the pets and children that accompany them! I was in there for a long while browsing with my toddler, and I was not rushed at all. They had such a wide variety of beautiful handmade jewelry as well as crystals. When I asked for a specific item, they were able to find one perfect for me! A beautiful little amethyst unicorn! They went above and beyond, even offering recommendations for a local ice cream shop I could go to with my little one. They even recognized me from their Instagram followers! The Gem Mine is a treasure trove of unique finds, and the staff is just out of this world. I will definitely be back when I return to the area...

I used to go to this place when it was on Cedar Lane in Teaneck. I loved it! Mary was wonderful!!! I followed them to Westwood also wonderful, never had an issue. Then it changed hands... I went in with an adjustable necklace to just have some links taken out so that I could wear it a bit shorter. I got a whole long story about how they had to wait till the person who did that work came in, it needed to be soldered etc. and it was priced at $110!!! That was more than the necklace itself! I certainly don't mind waiting for work, I know that people and places get busy, completely understandable but that was an exorbitant price. I have no interest (ie cash, friend...) in Jewelry by Vincent I just happened to go in there (New Milford on River Road) with the necklace and he charged me $15 and it was ready in two days! Probably one of the best expierences ive ever had in a store took place here. The women working were the nicest, and most patient people ever. We had such nice conversation. There was such a great atmosphere, a customer in the store raved about coming here for years. I have recently gotten into gemstone collecting, and they had so much information to share.

I didnt doubt for one second that what i was buying was real or not. I even talked about this store to another gemstore owner and they raved about this place.

I cant wait...
