MY RECOMMENDATION TO YOU IS -- RUN DON'T WALK -- PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE YOUR FORMAL DRESS AT ROYAL IMAGE BOUTIQUE. On March 11, 2015, I purchased a formal dress from Royal Image Boutique in the amount of $320.65. The dress was in need of alterations and there was no alterations seamstress on site. I was told that I needed to make an appointment for alterations to happen. Time was of essence to me. I then purchased a dress from another Formal Boutique that had alterations on-site ready to fit any dress purchased at a moment's notice. On March 15, 2015, I returned to Royal Image Boutique to return the dress I purchased on March 11, 2015. I was told by the owner that there was a 20% re-stocking/return free and after the third day no returns are accepted. I told the owner that a return policy was NOT DISCLOSED to me NOR was it written on my receipt. The dress was never worn, tags still on the dress but that was of NO concern to her. I did return the dress and was charged the 20% re-stocking fee. As I was expressing my concerns, the owner was very rude to me and ignored me completely. I could see that she was only interested in "making a sale" and collecting 20% re-stocking fee. So, all-in-all, my refund was $256.52. I was basically cheated out of $64.13 and nothing to show for it. Consumer, can you afford to be cheated out of your hard earned money? Can you afford to shop at a boutique that is only concerned with "making a sale" and not to meet your needs and concerns for a...
Read moreThis is just not a place of quality attire or fairly priced merchandise. Something was not right once we walked into the shop and we felt very uneasy and not welcomed. Dress appeared worn, dirty, unclean and appeared altered. Had a heavy feeling not to purchase item, but needed something for an upcoming event and we were almost out of time for finding a dress, so did not notice these things right away. Bought the item, was charged more for alterations (which were poorly done, terrible!) and dress looked worse off than it was before! To add insult to injury, the item was available on a site and was new, but at a more reasonable price, so this place overcharged more than almost $200 (we believe the owner knows this). Should have looked at it more closely, trusted my intuition (and my spouses') and walked out of there. Since we didn't pay attention to our instincts, we went ahead and took it as a loss and paid for the brand new one that was online, since we did not want our daughter to suffer the embarrassment of not only not having a dress, but being embarrassed at her event (a high-profile event where designers know what kind of quality dress you have). If you encounter the same feeling we had, please just walk out of there. It is not worth trying to get something out of feeling pressed for time - the owner obviously does not care whether you look bad at your events and just wants money. Not honest business...
Read morePurchased a dress for homecoming here last year. My daughter fell in love with one of the gowns off the rack but the dress was way too small. The owner assured me that her "seamstress" could add a panel in the back and it would look fine. After multiple trips to the store (the final one being to pick up my daughter's dress on the day I was told it would be ready) and the dress was not even there. The owner said that I could either drive to the seamstress or she would meet me and drop it off at a location closer to my home. I did appreciate her effort to make the situation right, but once I got the dress home for my daughter to try on, my appreciation turned to anger. The alterations that were made were so bad (and we were left with no time to find a suitable alternative) that we had to have a friend try to fix it literally an hour before the event. I will not step foot in this store again, and would not recommend anyone else to...
