*edit to respond: my husband did not rent a suit from you. I have receipts. Please stop lying.
My MOH had to attend via FaceTime. Tried out the dresses that were picked for me, not by me. Wanted to call my MOH to show her as she had taken time out of her schedule for this. Owner discouraged me, saying āweāll try them and show her the best onesā or something of that nature. Tried the rest on down to the final dress, when I was FINALLY allowed to call my MOH. MOH immediately got the vibe the owner was not pleased about her presence.
Dress wasnāt my favorite but owner and her friend pushed it, even saying āitās fine that itās uncomfortable, how much will you really sit anyways?ā But then Iām told to change back into my normal clothes, without a single opportunity to try on the others for my MOH to see as was promised. This was a big issue for me.
Owner begins showing me dresses online, then urging me to hang up the phone. Iām seeing all sorts of red flags but too introverted to call them out. I assume this is why she wanted the FaceTime ended, as my MOH was also my advocate as she knows my agreeable (at times) nature.
Had to drop the call with my best friend. Was measured for a run of the mill dress on a website called JJās House. Again, my frustratingly agreeable nature bit me, as I wanted a ball gown but was told it was out of my price range. Given her reputation, I for the millionth time, pushed back the bad feeling and went along.
Something I noticed was the dress she sized me for was, I think, $199 or $299 via JJās House. Surely JJH had to be a retail partner or something, right?
She charged me $500 - EXACTLY my budget - for the dress. I was apprehensive because there was a ZERO return policy for custom size dresses, but owner used her reputation to assure me it was fine.
I got hysterical at home when I saw the very dress I got for $500 couldāve been mine for a fraction of the cost through JJH directly. Worse yetā that nice ballgown I REALLY wanted couldāve been mine, as it was well within budget on JJH.
The Owner is as nice as can be when she thinks sheās about to swindle you out of a substantial amount of money. Butā if you have any issues whatsoever with your purchase, the kindhearted elderly woman mask flies off at the speed of light and youāre immediately met with a callous, unreasonable⦠creature.
I listened to this woman for over two hours repeatedly scream at my husband who was nothing but kind in describing the issue and how it could easily be fixed by canceling the JJās House order (there is a cancellation period) and refunding our money. She refused, citing no policy on JJās House actually existed even though we were staring at it. Finally she was convinced to cancel but then refused to return my money. Store credit, so she could scam us again.
My husband was not having it. Just as I left my bank with the information I needed to take action against her, she called, saying to come pick up the personal check she was writing as a refund. A refund she couldāve given us without screaming at him for two whole hours, and even lying to him that my MOH was ābusyā and thatās why she wasnāt FaceTiming the whole session. I had texts to back up my story, not that I needed them because we already knew the kind of person Dottie is.
I was wisely made to stay home because after hearing how she was treating my love, I couldāve ended up in jail very fast. VERY fast.
The check went through surprisingly enough and I refuse to let ANYONE I know shop here for their big day. I do not understand how people havenāt caught on to the price gouging practices here! Absolutely despicable.
For anyone looking, I actually tried SHEINās app for a wedding dressā $40 and I was SO HAPPY. Measuring yourself for a dress isnāt hard, look up tuts on YouTube then go through a reputable online retailer and cut the overcharging middle (wo)man. Iām sorry, but your time and measuring tape do not earn you such an insane price...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhere do I begin? I booked an appointment with Dottie and Isn't She Lovely Wedding Boutique because I wanted to stay local for wedding dress shopping. I am BEYOND thankful I did- the experience I had with Dottie was simply amazing. I went into the appointment nervous, anxious, with pre-conceived notions about the experience and the dress; all of these were blown out of the water. First, the appointment was COMPLETELY free and COMPLETELY private- the only people there were my mother, my aunt, my future MIL, myself, and Dottie. She locked the doors so we wouldn't have any interruption, and all of her focus was on me and my bride tribe. Second, I had pictures and an idea of what I wanted my dress to look like. Dottie listened to what I had to say and pulled dresses similar to the pictures I had shown. Never once did she push a dress on me. Third and most importantly, this woman knows her business. She knows wedding dresses. Dottie pulled a dress that I NEVER in a MILLION years would've chosen for myself- it was the first dress I tried on, it was THE dress I said yes to. I don't know how she did it or how she knew to have me try on that particular dress; all I can say was that this experience was pure magic. The stress I anticipated with wedding dress shopping disappeared the moment Dottie pulled me in for a hug- she is a wonderful and funny woman who will put you at ease. She will be completely honest with you, listen to you, work with you, and exceed your expectations. If you're in need of a wedding dress, a formal dress, a prom dress, of ANY kind of dress really- GO. SEE. DOTTIE. You will so very glad you did. Thank you, Dottie, for working your magic! I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had an appointment to find a Mother of the Bride dress for my daughter's upcoming wedding. I was pleasantly surprised that this elegant boutique in Wichita Falls had a wide selection of exquisite dresses.
The owner and fashion consultant, Dot Hoover, was amazing! She was very personable and made my entire experience fun. It's evident that she genuinely cares about her clients and strives to make the experience meaningful while finding the perfect dress and accessories for your special event.
She has a keen eye for detail, the latest fashion trends, and excellent skills in selecting colors and styles that perfectly suit your body type and complexion.
After spending a few minutes discussing my preferences, she pulled a few dresses. They were stunning, and I could tell she knew what I was looking for after taking time to listen to what I wanted.
The first dress was the perfect color, material, and style, but it didn't cover my arms as much as I wanted. However, she was so confident about the dress for me that I reluctantly tried it on and ended up falling in love with it.
Although I loved the dress, I still wanted something to cover my arms. Dot creatively engineered the design of the dress to make it perfect and exactly what I wanted!
Needless to say, I said yes to the dress and stayed within my budget even with adding the perfect jewelry accessory to make the dress pop!
