TAKI RAMEN JAPANESE NOODLE AND PUB — Restaurant in Wichita Falls

I rarely make reviews. But it’s gotten to the point where I feel like I need to. I’ve been a repeat customer to Taki since it opened. It’s been my boyfriend’s and my go-to date night restaurant for over a year. Now, I am not sure what changed but it’s gone downhill. The last 4-5 times my boyfriend and I have gone the service is mediocre at best. The waitstaff would rather sit on their phones or talk to each other than do their job. The first 3 times this happened, I was like you know it must be one of those nights. But times before our appetizer has been forgotten to be entered in, brought to us, my main dish last time was cold, but again that time I was trying to be understanding. We went again yesterday, our server was Landon and it was not even remotely a busy night. It took forever for him to get our drink orders then our food order. Again, I’d understand if it was busy but there were plenty of workers there. Our food took way longer to come out than it usually does. The server didn’t check on us. When it was time to pay, he forgot to bring the card back with the receipt. Just the service was awful, as it has been the last few times. Even the taste of the meal went down. I had the spicy bulgogi rice bowl. My boyfriend had the Aka ramen. He agreed that the ramen’s taste wasn’t nearly what it used to be. What we paid is certainly not worth the wait, the service, nor the food anymore. Unfortunately, we have agreed to not go back for awhile and find another place that is actually worth the price and the wait.

UPDATE: so, originally I had given this restaurant a 3-star review. My boyfriend and I went back yesterday around lunch time. The difference in a month is crazy. SO MUCH better. The waiter (was a different waiter than last time, thankfully) was nice, funny, and made sure we were taken care of. The water pitcher at the table with the cups was a great idea and awesome improvement. Along with, adding a button to push if we needed anything. The food even tasted better. So, I thought it was only fair to update my review to 5-stars because of the great service we received yesterday. Hopefully, the service stays this great in the future. Will take a few more visits to completely restore my faith here. But going...

I'm telling you, do not go on a Friday night! The place was packed. I went with my sister and we waited 20 minutes to be seated and we're given 2 seats at the bar. We waited another 15 minutes until we were helped and asked to sit at a recently cleared table. I had the aka ramen before and really enjoyed it. This time it melted my face off and made me throw up two bites into it. i poured my other ramen into it in a desperate attempt to cut the spice.it was unsuccessful and so we flagged down the waitress and asked that she take the practically untouched two bowls of ramen back and just bring me a new bowl of garlic ramen in replacement. She agreed and upon receiving bill I was still being charged for those two bowls of ramen. I insisted that if I was going to pay for it that they just make me two new bowl of ramen because I sent them back missing two bites maximum. The waitress went back and forth with me and was very rude and at one point insulted me calling me dumb. She dropped one bowl and said that I had to pay for the other even though I sent it back. She then brought her manager over who brought the owner over and we were eventually able to get it sorted out. However, when I was brought my replacement ramen I ordered a large and was charged for a large, I received a small. Honestly I didn't even mind paying for the ramen that I had to send back but they should have left it with me and I could have taken it home to someone who may have been able to eat it. I'm sorry but I'm not paying an extra 30 dollars for something I didn't even touch I understand that it would have been different if I had eaten all but three bites and asked for it to be comped but that was not the case I believe I was being very fair in my situation. And I will say that this is not the first time I have had issues with that same server I was assigned. The only real silver lining was the understanding and compassionate owner.
