Great store, very organized, amazing employees, and surprisingly spacious for a gamestop location, yet no shortage of games, systems, or amazing merchandise that anyone would love. Alright now onto the details about why I love this particular location better than any other Gamestop or EBGames I have visited. I have lived in Wichita, KS for three years now. This gamestop is literally only 4 blocks from my house so its extremely convenient. But thats not why its the best. I can honestly say i have never visited any business or establishment that cares about their customers as much as this amazing store. I visit atleast once a month if not every other week. The staff is very knowledgable about anything video game related. They welcome me by name the second I walk through the door and normally know what I'm there for before even I do. They have taken the time to actually get to know me on a personal level and get to know what kind of games im interested in and what systems im playing on. Always quick to recommend future games they feel i would enjoy and dlc I may have missed or upcoming dlc i wasnt aware of. Just the other day I went in to set some bew preorders as my list was getting short and I challenged them to guess which ones I was gonna add to my list. One of the newer guys that i have only talked to once or twice took up the challenge. (Wish i remembered his name but for review purposes im gonna call him Psychic Steve.) Psychic Steve, without missing a beat, grabbed a copy of each of the upcoming game lists and started circling some games while i looked around the store. When i came back to the counter with a game i found he hands me the list to see how many he got right. I can honestly say he knew every game i wanted. Even circled a few i hadnt heard of yet and explained, in very specific detail, everything he knew about those games. Even recommended some new sources I should keep an eye on for upcoming announcements. I preordered every single game he circled and he checked my account for any coupons I may have recieved or forgotten about. Located a couple and credited them both to my purchase. Ended up having a buy 2 get 1 free coupon and a surprisingly large amount of store credit i had forgotten about. Walked out with 3 new games to play and preordered another 25 upcoming games. Didnt end up paying anything out of pocket due to Psychic Steve's research and great customer service. Extremely satisfied with my purchase and grateful for all of the amazing knowledge they share with me everytime I visit and amazed by how passionate every employee is about making sure every customer is treated like family and that they get the most out of their visit possible. I never leave without spending atleast 1 to 2 hrs here everytime and i always leave in a better mood and my faith in humanity restored. Wish i could give more than five stars but there would never be enough stars to give. Absolutely one of the best teams that Gamestop...
Read moreThe worst game stop in the city. I went into Gamestop at 2570 S Broadway in Wichita, KS last night to grab a hard copy of Borderlands 3.
While there, the cashier (Yanira)asked if I wanted to renew my membership using power up rewards points. I agreed, and went home.
Next day I receive an email from power up rewards, thanking me for enrolling in their digital subscription service. I was surprised, because the cashier never asked if I wanted to stop receiving the print copy.
No big deal, I go back to the store to correct the mistake and encounter the manager, Chelsea.
Chelsea is bristling with attitude. I had to all if she was the manager because I thought there's no way someone in charge is treating customers this way. She never apologised for my inconvenience, and what's more, she made it seem as if the error was my fault.
I told her that coming to her store had been a terrible experience because of the error combined with het treatment of me. She didn't apologise and only offered "well sir I fixed the problem". I told her that wasn't the point, and that I had to come back into the store, wasting my time, when I could have downloaded the game without the headache.
When I asked if it was Gamestop policy to change member accounts settings without their consent, she told me that it was, and that ganestop is ending the print subscription service.
I've always used my points to pay for my magazines, but Chelsea charged me $5 extra, to renew. Ahe said there was no option to renew the print subscription using points.
Question: is it policy to change member account info without their consent, and its ganestop ending it's print subscription service to game...
Read moreGame Stop was an okay shopping experience this time. I bought some Funko Pops. As the clerk was ringing up my purchases she informed me she could not sell me the Freddie Mercury pop as it had been mistakenly put on shelf and was someone else's. We discussed the matter awhile but clerk would not sell it to me. She looked for another Freddie Mercury funkopop at different store. She found one 90 miles away and was having it sent to her store. Later that evening my daughter and I went back to same Game Stop to purchase a certain game controller. While we were there the clerk informed me I wouldn't be able to purchase the 2nd Feddie Mercury funkopop. Same issue as before. Mistakenly put for sale. Someone else ordered it and bought it. Gamestop did not have the game controller we wanted either. They found the controller at another store and gave us the information to call the store. When we called the other store the last next morning the clerk informed us that controller was not for sale either and they had gotten 10 plus calls of customers wanting to purchase it. Again some other customer had ordered and paid for this controller. That was 3 strikes against Game Stop in one evening! G.S. needs to get...
