As a freshman at Wichita State at the time of writing this review I must say I am pleasantly surprised with the living conditions this dormitory provides. There are of course one or two drawbacks, which I will get to in a moment.
The RAs are fantastic; my floor's RA is a foreign exchange student from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Great guy. One of the benefits of living in a dorm hall is the chances you get to meet people from all over the world. I've met kids from South Korea, Nepal, Japan, you name it.
I'm very glad each unit has its own designated bathroom, no shared shower facilities for each floor. The shower heads can be a bit hit or miss, but replacing the shower head with a new one like I did in my unit, should do you good.
The beds are quite subpar. I highly recommend getting at least a 3-inch memory foam mattress topper if you want to feel like you're sleeping on something other than a bunch of metal springs encased in a thin layer of plastic.
I would say the biggest issue I have with Shocker Hall would be the thin walls. I'm assuming that has something to do with fact that the final building construction phase was rushed to meet a completion deadline in 2014. It's not that bad, but sometimes you can hear your neighbor(s) talking if they're being a little too loud.
Outside of the minor inconveniences, this is a wonderful...

Not to mention bathroom quality is B teir and the laundry rooms are always dirty because collage students are mentally handicapped, at least you will be close to your classes and the dining hall. I had to transfer to the flats second semester because shocker sucks so much. My new roommate is a non-binary satanist but at least they keep to themselves...
Read moreWhile wonderful inside, the walls are thin, mattresses uncomfortable, and most significantly the prices are extremely high. The cost of a room here is not the full price of living here! You are required to get a 2000$ per semester (or more!) meal plan with your room. I stayed here overnight for orientation, and while I would have loved living here the cost is outrageously overblown, at least at the time of writing this review. If you can afford it: however, its in a wonderful location on campus and the living learning communities seem wonderful. You'll want a...
