Visited behind Prentis Store on a Thursday morning and got to see some beautiful sheep and find out alot about them, there was also a bantam chicken there trained to sit nicely and allow people to pet it. The staffer informed us that in February they sheer the sheep by hand and allow people to watch. The sheep’s wool can take 2-3 days to dry after getting wet. They were delightful to watch, very well taken care of.

This building is the oldest commercial building in all of Williamsburg, originally built and operated from 1740 to 1779. It is nearly three centuries old and the original structure. The store is operational today by selling authentic goods from local artisans, a favorite part of Colonial Williamsburg of mine, a truly functional 1700s Colonial town in every sense.

We liked the Prentis Store and the wide selection of merchandise. The old building is great and one of the original buildings from the 1740’s. It’s fun shopping in the same building our Founding Fathers may have also frequented. The lady behind the counter was not very friendly, but all else was great.

Very rude store attendants. Told my 9 year old daughter to not carry her water in 100 degree heat. Which my husband apologized and closed the bottle. Stated things in store were paper goods that cost over 200 dollars and could be damaged. He asked the other visitors in the store of he was wrong for asking in a way everyone looked at him strangely over this. They should train Neil the rude attendant that us tourists are what keep this city alive and keep these stores open. Would not return to any of the stores in the area to spend our money. Would actually not return to Williamsburg area due to it not being child friendly. Area also seemed not attended well especially in the surrounding area saw only a blacksmith and tin making...

This store was advertised as having products made by the local artisans. That was true but very limited. Another store nearby had many of the same items. If you're looking for jewelry you are better off visiting the silversmith nearby. Rose head nails by the local blacksmith were three dollars each. Other places give them out for free. Overall, a few things of interest but a disappointment in the lack of...
