The Raleigh Tavern Bakery used to be a highlight to my visit at Colonial Williamsburg. Treats depictinf historial flavors such as sweet potato muffins, Shrewsbury cookies, apple pasties, and apple cake used to line the shelves. In the past decade, more modern sandwiches and grab-n-go savory offerings have been incorporated among these delights. I enjoyed the modernization and alignment with historical food, even though the Shrewsbury cookies had become generic sugar cookies.
