Food Lion — Local services in Williamston

I had to come back & edit my review because this store has gone down hill over the past years. The produce department is horrible. I just went in today to get avocados (that was on the weekly sale btw) & they were all mush. The produce guy said they didn't have anymore. My daughter got bananas last week that looked ripe (even a but over ripe), but when she bit into one, it was crunchy. Many of the berries have mold growing on the ones in the bottom. It's ridiculous. I expect more from a store whose tag line on their trucks is "Follow Me to Fresh." The only reason for stars at all is they do have...

Hands down the best grocery store in town. They always have a great selection, the produce is fresh and local when it's in season, and they often run good sales. As a vegetarian, it's sometimes hard to find good options in Eastern NC- I never have to worry about finding an excellent selection at Food Lion. They also carry local school Riverside merch, which is great! The Williamston Food Lion employees are all stars, always friendly and very helpful. Never thought I'd actually look forward to grocery shopping, but this Food Lion is consistently a great experience. We have no choice...

This is the best food lion in all these counties from Pitt to Ahoskie and I’m sure even beyond that but I just don’t go that far. Customer service is exemplary the people here will do everything that they can to make sure that you get what you need, they are always polite and helpful. The store is clean and the food is presented in a very tempting way! The manager Juanita is an exceptional manager both in terms of the care of the store and the care of her staff, they must feel valued to behave in such a courteous way.
