ALDI — Local services in Willoughby

I love shopping at Aldi! Prices are amazing. While there are only a few name brand items, the Aldi house brand comes pretty darn close in taste. The meat is good, the produce has always been good. Specifically the corn on the cob is OUTSTANDING, sweet and tender. It's already cleaned and shucked so all you have to do is cook it. The rest rooms are usually pretty clean. There are a few self scan registers if you don't want to wait in lines that can sometimes be long. Shoppers need to use a quarter to "rent" a cart for shopping, which you insert into a special apparatus attached to the cart handle that is linked to the cart in front of each one. After your shopping is done you get your quarter back when your return your cart to the corral. Shoppers have to supply their own bags, however there are reusable bags available for purchase. I was using a self checkout and was almost done but had to get & put all my canned goods from my cart to the register. This took a few minutes when all of a sudden the register stop working. I looked at the cashier and he said I would have to start over, guess I wasn't fast enough ? I'm a senior citizen & upset because I already had 3 bags full. I miss the days when employees used to be cashiers & bag your groceries. Besides the shopping, now customers have to do everything here, even walking the carts back to the store. I shop regularly at Aldis and am generally pleased with the store. Today, however, I was deeply disappointed with the attitude of one of the cashiers. I had forgotten to bring a quarter for the shopping cart so went inside to either get a cart, get change for a quarter or to borrow. The cashier initially gave me a quarter then after getting a cart, immediately chased me down to get the quarter back. To this cashier, remember who your paying customers are, and just politely ask for the quarter back when one is done shopping. Your attitude was degrading and...
