I first visited Loka Beauty Studio in July of 2024, for a haircut I scheduled with Loka’s owner, Karen. I went into that appointment with a decent amount of anxiety - I hadn’t had a professional haircut in nearly a year, and I hadn’t had a professional haircut I liked since fully embracing my curly/wavy hair (not to mention I was dealing with significant postpartum anxiety AND postpartum hair loss!). I confessed to Karen that I’d been cutting my own hair at home, and that previous curly cuts had always left me disappointed (which I combatted by “fixing” those cuts when I got home). Karen listened to my concerns and fears and talked me through the whole process of (yes, I know it’s “simply”) a haircut - she really took the time to set me at ease before any scissors even came out. I was delighted with the result and, in fact, let that haircut “last” a lot longer than any normal person would have. Karen’s genuine care and the story of how Loka came to be helped me feel comfortable returning with my mother-in-law when she visited for a prolonged stay and needed a visit to the salon. Meg did a tremendous job with her cut and color and Skyler convinced her to try brow waxing instead of her usual routine (my mother-in-law was quite pleasantly surprised with the result). Though I’ve had “schedule haircut” on my to-do list for months now, it wasn’t until yesterday that I was finally able to return for a haircut myself. After my interaction with Karen and everyone else in the salon (it is SUCH a friendly and welcoming place!), I knew I could trust any of the stylists with my hair, and they would ALL listen and help me achieve what I wanted. As Karen was not available, I scheduled my appointment with Amanda and I could not be happier with the result. Like Karen, Amanda took the time to listen to what I wanted, asked questions about how I usually style my hair at home, and in the end, she gave me the best haircut I have ever had. I cannot thank Karen and Amanda enough for restoring my faith in the professional haircut and for helping me look and feel better than I have in a while. I am SO grateful for the whole Loka team - it makes a difference when you can feel the positivity and camaraderie in a place - and I intend to be a regular customer...

Review: I recently had the pleasure of visiting LOKA Beauty Studio and Blow Dry Bar, and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism by the friendly staff. The atmosphere was trendy and modern, creating a relaxing and enjoyable environment.

First and foremost, I had my hair styled by the talented owner, Karen. She truly worked magic on my hair, leaving me feeling like a million bucks. Karen's expertise and attention to detail were evident throughout the entire process, and I was thrilled with the end result. My hair looked flawless, thanks to her skillful hands!

In addition to my hair, I had my brows attended to by the wonderful Skyler. Let me tell you, she is a brow genius! Skyler took the time to understand my preferences and shaped my brows perfectly to enhance my facial features. I left with brows on fleek, feeling confident and fabulous.

Special mention must be given to Amanda, who provided the best wash and hair mask I've ever experienced. Her gentle touch and expertise in hair care made the whole process incredibly relaxing. My hair felt nourished, revitalized, and incredibly soft after Amanda's attentive treatment.

The entire team at LOKA Beauty Studio and Blow Dry Bar exhibited professionalism, skill, and passion for their craft. The staff was attentive, ensuring my comfort throughout the entire visit. The salon itself was immaculate and well-maintained, adding to the overall positive experience.

Long winded but detailed back story story, sorry: I completed chemo/radiation in late April, 2024, & my new chemo curls were becoming unruly(a la Albert Einstein). For the last 35 years I’d been cutting my long, straight hair, so going to a Hair Salon was a big deal in itself & anxiety making. Upon entering LOKA, a calming environment, lots of awesome plants and an especially welcoming group of ladies greeted me. I had read all 150+ pages of posted reviews & saw for myself that I had found a treasure in LOKA. Amanda met with me for a consultation, listened to my crazy hair journey & I left feeling 100% confident that Amanda “got” what I was looking for. Her kindness, positive attitude and active listening were 5 stars. Very impressive. I returned this morning for my haircut, excited rather than anxious. Amanda remembered what we’d discussed a month prior and I sat back and watched her do her magic. I felt as though we worked as a team deciding what would look best. I fully trusted Amanda and she did not disappoint. My chemo curls are so fun and Amanda enjoyed the experience with me.
