We've been here 2x now. The food is good and it comes out pretty fast. That being said the workers need training. Both times the only people working looked to be late teens early twenties. They are friendly and pleasant, but they don't seem to know what they're doing, check on you to see what you need or just generally know how to serve.
The first time was a Sunday lunch and the place was dead. All of the employees were just hanging out in a booth in the back. We sat for 10 minutes before our server came over. We did not get crab crackers for the 4 orders of crabs we got. We wanted dessert, but it took so long to find the waiter that we just got our check and left.
This time we ordered unsweet tea and got sweetened. The server was never seen again until the food came out 15 minutes later so we sat. Both times we got dry rub Old Bay. When we asked if the mild, medium or spicy is the amount of seasoning used or some other method of making the crabs spicy - they servers do not know. What is the answer???
The two hardest things with employees is having them show up and having them possess a positive attitude. Both these things are there so why not train them properly and have someone there at all times in charge so that they are guided in the right direction. I think next time we may try the one in Newark to see if the setup is better since we...
Read moreShellfish poisoning!!!
1st time i ate here i dined in with a friend. None of the servers looked pleased to be working here and it showed in their presence. I ordered 1lb of crab legs and 1lb headless shrimp in a boil bag with the dujour sauce. Flavor was good and the quality of seafood was excellent along with execution of cooking.
The 2nd time i ate here i ordered take out. This time i got the crab/shrimp/mussels boil bag with hush puppies. About 4 hours later i got EXTREMELY sick and was diagnosed with shellfish poisoning! Its been 3 days and I'm still experiencing symptoms from shellfish poisoning. Since i had 2 of 3 proteins a week prior to this order i honestly think it came from the mussels in the bag. The flavor in the boil bag was great but i think the hushpuppies could use a little more seasoning.
Only reason i gave this review 5 stars is because i want everyone to read this and be aware of things like this that can happen. The establishment has no way of knowing theyre being sold bad mussels until a guest actually gets sick and posts about it in a review so I'm not blaming the kitchen/restaurant/owner/cook but most definitely blaming their "reputable source". Had i never gotten sick from the mussels i would give this place 4 of 5 stars. 4 because the servers have an "i dont want to be here serving you" kind...
Read moreNewly opened and really spacious restaurant that gets very busy in the evenings. But well worth it - the portions are huge and the seafood is delicious! As seafood lovers - we ordered their Signature Seafood Boil along with Fresh Oysters, Crab Meat Fries, Crab Meat Po' boy, Lemon Pepper Chicken Wings and Cocktail Jumbo Shrimp. Everything came out faster than we expected and even before we were done with the previous dish. The Fresh Oysters were the delicious large kind and very Fresh! The Crab Meat Fries were super tasty! And our favorite (the Seafood Boil) was....rich in flavor (we order on the spicier side). We were so full by the end, that we couldn't finish everything. Next time we plan on trying the Salad with Crab Meat (seen it being carried out for other tables and looked delicious). Also, drinks were top notch - we ordered a Mai Tai, a Bloody Mary, and a Lychee Martini. Each drink was smooth and well balanced with just the right amount of alcohol (you could barely taste it, but still feel the liquor creeping up as you enjoy your cocktail). Cheers and glad we found a new seafood restaurant to add to our list of favorite...
