Polished Salon — Local services in Wilmington

Oh BOY, yall suck. I was super cautious going as it was, due to how many previous customers mentioned Polished's "efficiency." Translation: not the most relaxing of experiences. Still, the high rating stood out for me, plus I live in the neighborhood. HUGE mistake. No welcome; no offer of so much as a styrofoam cup of tap water; no thanks for/asking if I was a New Customer. Instead it's extremely obvious, from reviews and my own short (efficient!) time there, that Polished zeroes in on its cash cow: wedding parties. In fact, I had the joy of hearing back-to-back scheduling calls, because the conversations were SCREAMED into the desk phone a yard away. Again, not eucalyptus and harps. Bad etiquette aside, far more important was supposed to be the pedicure itself. Carla did a miserable job and only covered portions of my nails: see pics (not, of course, the new growth of the nails; just the glaringly obvious uneven polish application). And nobody can tell me that she jacked up my nails so badly for any reason besides how dim (& tight) that whole place is. Paid more of course than I would've at a strip mall spot, but still shuffled in and out like cattle. It's a disappointment to be shown that I'm not and won't be valued. Can't...

Saw Carla for a gel manicure and a pedicure. She did great, my nails look fantastic and she really paid attention to detail. I honestly liked that she didn’t really talk to me the entire time I was there as I had rushed from work and was past my talking limit of the day so it was relaxing to not have the pressure to make small talk. I’m sure if I had wanted to talk she would’ve been friendly enough as well, it was just nice to be able to have an experience where I wasn’t forced into having small talk. Everything was great and I’ll definitely be coming back. The entire experience was relaxing, and it wasn’t very busy when I went so I didn’t feel rushed. I guess the only downside is it was a bit expensive, but I think I’m just not used to the sadly higher prices everywhere, especially because I don’t get this service done often. But it was worth...

First Time & Last Time… I am new to the area & wanted to try a local salon for a pedicure. Called to make an appointment & was told to come at 6pm for a pedicure with Davi. Well I showed up for my appointment & Davi had no idea who I was. Unfortunately the person who took my appointment never told her & she was overbooked. Davi was upset & spoke to me very rudely & also spoke in her language which clearly I knew she was talking about me. I was very uncomfortable & she made me feel unwelcome!
