This was maybe my 3rd time to the Oyster House, and by far my worst experience solely due to the bartender working inside. I went to meet some friends there to see the musician that was playing, which was great. I had opened a tab inside. I went to use the restroom while my one friend sat with our drinks at a nearby table (all were open), and 2 of my other friends had gone outside to smoke. Right before I returned from the restroom there was an issue with everyone’s drinks being discarded when the one friend walked out front to ask someone a question. He confronted the bartender and stated that 2 of the drinks were still over half way full. He was then under the assumption that the bartender was replacing the drinks. Upon closing out my tab 5 or so minutes later, I saw that a drink that I had not ordered even once during my time there was added to my tab. My friend questioned the bartender and here she had added one of the drinks she had just agreed to replace bc it was taken. The first issue was that the drink wasn’t even supposed to be charged for at all, and the bigger issue for me was the fact that she added someone else’s drink to my tab, and I didn’t even order the drink. When I spoke to the bartender she was immediately extremely rude and then preceded to say “it’s only $6”, the drink was $8- but it was not my drink and I didn’t order it. She had already said we would have to wait at least 15 minutes for a manger, and then finally said she would replace the $8 with cash, as she turned away she very rudely made a comment about it coming out of her tips (it was her mistake?). She also had told my friend who was speaking fairly calmly to her that he needed to calm down, etc. After she dropped the cash on the bar and very ignorantly walked away ignoring anything that I had to say, she then threatened to call a bouncer, as we were already walking out, but for what? Bc she couldn’t accept the fact that she had a made a mistake? Something that shouldn’t have been a big deal and could have been easily rectified. Instead she became very ignorant and treated several customers with immense disrespect. As a bartender myself, I found her demeanor and the way she handled the entire situation appalling. I’m positive I will not be going out of my way to visit this establishment in the future due to the disrespect that I witnessed this evening. Kindness goes...
Read moreI went out here with my friends the Sunday night before Memorial day. Obviously the place was crowded since everyone had off on Monday, which was fine. My issue, however; was with the inside bartender. She was the only person behind the bar and she was clearly really busy. When I sat down at the bar it took her a few minutes to come over. When she did I asked if we could still order food since it was getting late (about 11:15 pm) she said yes and gave us menus. We didnt want dinner, just something to snack out. I ordered waffle fries and continued to hang out. A half hour later she comes back and goes 'let me check on your fries', which had not come out yet. Again, I understand they were really busy. I waited some more and still nothing. It took until 12:15 am to receive this small basket of fries. An hour is a really long time to wait for a snack. If I had known I would have left and gone somewhere else. This was exactly why I ASKED before I tried to order anything. The bartender never told me it would take an hour and never cared to apologize that it took so long. She dropped the basket in front of me as if SHE was annoyed with ME! She also didnt ask if we needed anything else. Just walked straight away. When I could finally grab her attention again I asked for the check. At this point one of my friends had ordered a drink (I still had one from outside) and she proceeded to pay for it with cash. When the bartender gave me the check my friends drink was listed on there. We told the bartender that she had already given her cash for this drink and the bartender ripped the check out of my friends hand, saying 'whatever' and removing the drink from the bill. Customer service is so important when it comes to running a business. I was seriously appalled by the bartenders attitude and the lack of service I received. If she was too busy to provide QUALITY service to the guests than she should of had someone else working behind the bar with her. Or if she knew it was going to take so long for fries she could of had the manager let me know or even let me know herself. Had the service been better we would have stayed and had another round but we couldn't even deal with negative attitude and vibes we were receiving. It was really just an awful experience. Safe to say I will not be...
Read moreI usually dont write reviews on places Ive been to but my experience last week prompt me to take the time to write this because my girl and I were racially profiled by the manager Brian and 2 of the waitresses. We go to this place all the time because we live close by. I took my girl out to eat for her birthday on Friday night, to a place we go to very often. We were there for about 45 -60 mins and right after we paid the bill the manager came up to us and told us we have to leave or he will call the cops. We were shocked and try to ask why since we have been here for so long, had our meal and 2 drink and was enjoying the night. He said that 2 waitresses told him that my girl was on the floor and was too drunk! I was furious and she calmed me down and said lets just go. We proceeded to leave and then i told here thats not right and that I need to go find out why he told us to leave after eating, paying and tipping our waitress $20 on a $68 meal. We spoke to the general manage Erik that stated right off that we were not drunk etc. I said to him dude look around you, we are the only minority couple in here, do you think this is right? He shared his concerns etc but held no weight to us because we were extremely embarrassed. My girl cried all the way home. We have never ever been treated so disrespectfully in our entire lives. Then after reading a few reviews that have had the similar experience we both decided that that was our last time to ever visit the Oyster House. I hope this review will help to prevent someone from experiencing the same thing. Its 2019 we have...
