Midwinter Co. was the best decision I could have made for an engagement ring. I do not know the words to express my gratitude to this company, but I will try my best. I started off looking for styles and cuts of diamonds I would like on different well known diamond stores and I could not find anything that remotely matched my style. I was never too enthusiastic about finding the perfect engagement ring, and was not something that I was overly concerned with. However, the more I browsed the more I realized I probably would not end up wearing any of the rings I saw available at various stores. Nothing really sparked my interest and I began to wonder if it was really worth getting a diamond ring for a proposal, and then to never end up wearing it. However, I stumbled upon Midwinter Co one day in my google searches. How delightfully surprised I was at their unique style and selection of diamonds, I instantly fell in love with their aesthetic and thought to myself, I finally found something I actually would not only want to wear, but truly LOVE. I immediately contacted their Operations Manager Barb, and we began this wonderful journey of making my own custom ring. Needless to say even though I was in love with the selection of rings available on their website, I wanted the ring to be just right if I was going to commit to this, and I was nervous about custom making my own through an online service. I was hesitant about making the commitment without ever seeing anything in person. However, Barb went ABOVE AND BEYOND to help make sure every single thing was well cared for and the attention to detail was astounding. She sent me mock ups, videos of diamonds, and above all she provided me with her own suggestions of what she thought would align with what I wanted based on my feedback from different conversations we had. We spoke over the span of a few months, and at times I was beginning to feel like I was potentially being "annoying" with different requests for mock ups and not being able to decide on a diamond without actually seeing it. And again, I must say that Barb provided the utmost standard in customer care and made me feel SO comfortable to ask her anything I wanted. She always made me feel welcome to change my mind and provided so many options (but not too many to feel overwhelmed!!)...the diamond I eventually decided on was something that Barb approached me with via email. She sent a link of a video of the diamond asking if this was what I was looking for. AND IT WAS PERFECT!! She accented the diamond with exactly what I wanted (black diamonds), and when I was worried it was going to look "too much" she offered more mock ups to see exactly what it would look like in different band options. I really felt like the final product was a perfect collaboration between what I wanted, and an expert opinion. What more could you ask for?? As I said before I was never too interested in finding the perfect engagement ring prior to my experience with Midwinter Co., and now that I have this ring that is so lovingly an expression of myself, my personality and style, I cannot stop staring at it!!! I have been complimented by all of my friends, family, and fiancé on how perfect the ring is for me. I really cannot say enough about how excellent this experience was and how overjoyed I am with the final product. We also collaborated and bought the wedding band together during the process :) When the ring was finalized and ready to be made, I forwarded the email to my fiancé and he took it from there. Again, he would like to extend his thanks to Barb who made the buying and delivery process so very easy. We are located in Ontario and had to deal with Customs for the rings, but it was effortless and there was no stress. The pictures do not do this ring justice, it is more beautiful in person and I really cannot thank Barb and everyone at Midwinter Co enough!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this business to anyone looking for a unique custom ring that is a little bit different than your standard engagement ring, but still timeless...

My partner and I ordered a custom engagement from Midwinter this year and we couldn't be more happy with that decision. Because I am very picky with my tastes, my partner and I decided that it would make the most sense for me to pick out my own ring. I decided that I wanted a very specific ring that I couldn't find at any jewelers- it only lived in my head. This was when we decided to customize the perfect ring. The only problem there is that my partner and I are both totally clueless when it comes to picking out jewelry- let alone ordering a custom made piece. After TONS of research online and comparing different jewelers against one another, I finally decided that I wanted to work with MidWinter to create my dream engagement ring. What sold me on MidWinter is the fact that they are a small business who specializes in bespoke designs and ethically sourced stones. Furthermore, I feel that it is more important than ever to be intentional with the businesses that we support and I felt really good about working with a small, family owned company as opposed to one of the big, national box chains who pump out thousands of the same rings every day. Something else that I think is really special about MidWinter is the fact that they give back. 10% of their profits each year are donated to charity. I mean come on- talk about feeling good where you put your money!

MidWinter's designs are all incredibly beautiful. Each ring tells a story and is unique to the next. These are not the everyday rings that you'll find at a Zales or Kay jewelers- these rings tell a story.

After making the decision to work with MidWinter came the fun part- actually building my dream ring!! I reached out via email and heard back from Barb, the customer service representative within an hour. I couldn't believe how incredibly sweet and responsive Barb was. Like I said, this was my first time ever looking for jewelry so this was an intimidating process, but Barb went above and beyond. She held my hand virtually through the entire process. She allowed me to ask as many questions as I wanted without ever making me feel pressured. She made suggestions and helped direct us as we ventured into totally new territory. I've seen a few of the other reviews raving about Barb and I wholeheartedly agree. I seriously can't say enough about her.

I should also add that I live in Oregon... Far away from MidWinter who is all the way across the country in Delaware. Not being able to work face to face with a jeweler and try on rings in person made this process significantly more difficult. However, MidWinter rose to the challenge and truly made me feel like I was there all along.

Because my ring was custom, that meant that we got to work directly with the designer to mock up a CAD digital rendering of the ring prior to it being casted in metal. I was able to be as nitpicky as I wanted and got every little detail PERFECT. Being able to be part of this process so intimately really made me feel confident and assured that this was exactly the right decision.

Finally, once the ring shipped, it arrived in a beautiful velvet box. The ring was clearly cared for beautifully before it arrived to me. It's even more beautiful in person. I've been wearing it every day since we got engaged and it's absolutely perfect. I took it to get resized locally (although MidWinter does offer a free resize!) because I couldn't bare to be without it for more than a few hours! I get complimented on how beautiful it is DAILY. I can't wait to find my perfect wedding band to accompany my engagement ring sometime in the near future.

The quality of craftsmanship, the absolutely stunning center and accent stones, the setting design, even the engraving: EVERY detail is beyond expectation, and we will forever be in debt to everyone at Midwinter Co. for all that they have done in creating such an incredible ring and experience for us. If you (yes YOU, reading this right now) are looking for a genuinely stress free, personalized, exceptional engagement ring shopping and/or designing experience, congratulations: you've found it!

The journey towards our beautiful ring was unlike anything I could have ever hoped for. I'm not sure about the rest of you, but for me, shopping for an engagement ring was as exciting as it was daunting. And nowadays, if you even think about an engagement ring, you'll start seeing ads for at least a dozen stores online within the next thirty minutes. I stumbled upon Midwinter Co. and their instagram page after reviewing a number of photos I'd saved while wandering deep in the rabbit hole of Pinterest: to my surprise, a good 75% of them were all from MWC. Now admittedly, I had some initial reservations before contacting them given that I live four states away from their shop and would need to do the entire process online. But the rings in front of me were just too unique and beautiful to ignore, and so I sent what would become one of the most important emails in my life to hello@midwinter.co.

Immediately after receiving the first few responses from Barb (who deserves her own 5 star review), I knew I'd reached the end of my search for the perfect company. In a matter of days, we set a timeline, and hit the ground running! Barb was beyond helpful and accommodating, sending sample photos and videos of oh so many stones, digital mock ups, and regularly made recommendations that kept our goals and vision in the forefront. Not once did I feel pressured, and my innumerable questions were always met with rapid, pleasant, and helpful responses. After all the variables were accounted for, she kept me informed during each step of the crafting process, allaying any remaining anxieties that could have existed.

And when we at last received our ring, it was the most perfect piece either of us had ever set eyes on. It is not just a symbol of our love, but, as MWC put's it so well in regard to their Celestial Diamonds, it is 'unique, real, and stunningly beautiful...just like the person wearing it.'
