This is a small studip and unexpected gem in wind gap. pa. Everyone is super nice, but I will never recommend them to anyone who is not white with "white girl hair." Being a latina women worth curly hair, I tried... several times. First with Kaylee twice whom I was told was THE short hair woman...she botched it completely. Then I went back hoping for better results and it was worse. I told her to use the razor to thin it because I have thick hair, but it looked like a short helmet almost all the same length around...I have had the haircut I was aiming for many many times in the past so I had a half dozen photos from over the years as reference. Mess. I looked like a boy. I've had bad cuts in the past but sheesh. She IS SUPER SWEET AND talkative, but maybe less talking would've helped the cut. I then went to another woman who was considered one of their master stylists and she also..made it worse because despite me STRESSING repeatedly that texturing sheers should never be used on my hair because they make it bushy and I need it properly.layered then thinned a bit when dry with a razor cut, I was ignored as she cut my hair while talking to a stylist student.... when I was upset, she said they didn't do razor cuts because they damaged hair and as a stylist for over 10 years , she knew. Ahem.... I was older then her but at least 10 years, probably closer to 15 and have been getting my hair cut this way since I was 14... I has and have thick and healthy hair.... obviously no damage. Apparently PA stylists don't believe in razor cuts...one size fits all apparently unlike NY and NJ where I have been to stylists who know to work with a woman's actual hair, not an idea.
I spent so much money on my cuts and always tipped well despite the mess because that's how I was raised and it was just horrendous. The manager finally agreed to return the two cheapest haircuts.... without the tip of course which was an additional 30 plus the more expensive "master cut" Which also had a 15.00 tip...I was NOT HAPPY.
IRONICALLY while I was waiting to get my money back, another woman was there [white with short-hair ] and she was telling the manager how she wouldn't go back to Kaylee because she didn't know what she was doing. The manager tried to calm her by saying Kaylee was the only one who really knew short hair...sooo.... you each only have one specialty???? They'd never hack it in NY or NJ. Generally I am pretty easy to please, but in PA as a whole, stylists seem to think subpar is best. Granted, none of these places are in big cities so maybe that why they don't have experience with other hair...
Read moreI decidedto once do something for myself and go to a well established business. I chose a tier one stylist to not extend myself to much finsncially and to give business to the up and coming. I took an 8x10 ai picture of myself in with me. The first hour i was there only the back of my hair was roughly cut off and a text strip done. I sat there another three hours. I knew when she was doing it it wasnt being done correct. When she started to cut my hair i continued to explain that it is no where close to what i wanted. She stopped and got the manager. The mansger asked if i could stsy or come back thursdsy so she could fix it herself as I did not want to stay there any longer that day. She then told me that she is a tier 3 stylist as to say that it would cost me more so I asked her the price she said let me talk to the owner. I'll call you tomorrow and she set up my appointment for the next day after. The whole time both ladies kept asking me what I wanted done or how could it be fixed? I continually showed them the picture as this is what I want it done that's why I brought the picture. Also the whole time the stylist kept asking me how she should do things so I left with highlights that should've been chunks of color half a haircut. I certainly did not pay and she lightened my roots. My whole thing with the color was to have a good contrast at the beginning of the appointment after the strand test, they told me they couldn't get it as late as I wanted to as they wanted to preserve the health of my hair.. Now to get my hair the way that I want to I have to get the dark red dyed dark and then I have to get chunks of blonde in my hair because now it has a highlight which I did not want so in the end my hair will be worse off than if they would've did it right to begin with so not only did I get a stylist that certainly couldn't do what I wanted then a manager doesn't even get a hold of me so for me it's zero stars terrible customer service. Below is pictures the first is what I wanted and the rest...
Read moreAsked for auburn low lights on my already bleached and toned blonde ...she did a medium brown instead. Agreed to a cut (long layers, sharp v shape in the back)...hair cut was very uneven and really had no (or very slight) v shape. Dont say you can do a service if you cant.
In response to the owner, I had not spent time looking closely at the cut or placement of the low lights in the salon since you went in to another appointment timewise. It was at home where I saw almost on inch shorter in the right than the left. I, of course, questioned the auburn vs brown in the salon (having shown you a pic of my goal color.) You said "next visit" you could do it. You said you were "afraid that my hair would look too dark" which really should have told me that you were guessing on the color :( My hair was not bleached twice at home, it was bleached once and achieved a nice platinum blonde (successfully removing my previous dark burgundy color). My hair was treated with olaplex and various restorative treatments. It is ABSURD for you to post that I would fly here to have my hair done lol. If i was flying somewhere for a colorist it would be the salon in atlanta. ...not the poconos. After losing length on a crooked cut, I don't see the benefit of letting you try again (thus losing even more length) I just wish stylists would stop and say they cant do what is asked instead of...
