I'm judging outside events for the park in itself for itself. Lovely place for kids to play on a medium temperature day, maybe 80s and down but not 90s and up. (I would prefer penn argyl on scorching days because they have more trees.) Decent equipment. Well maintained. I got engaged there under the gazebo in 2015, so it's a nice romantic spot as well! Not the greatest park for a nice long walk, but it has some walking. I have pictures there from when I was a teenager. When I was a kid I loved bouncing little rubber balls on the covered stage. It's a wonderful place for making lots of memories! My kids love it, so I can't wait to hear their stories from their point of view when they're older. Nice Pavillion (picnic shelter for Southern people who don't know what a pavilion is, not a derogatory comment as my kids are half and half northern/southern).
Now judging for events, it's a great spot for them. Seeing it's in town there's plenty of room for parking. The park is large...
Read moreI don't feel comfortable in this area anymore. It always feels like there are eyes on me. I come to this park often to sit on my phone and on a number of occasions cars have parked suspiciously facing me or right next to me then sit there. I had kept putting it away as paranoia until yesterday morning a young man finally confronted me. Yes, I am in fact making the locals uncomfortable. No, I do not care. I have been homeless, and seeking work and housing for over a year, as I grew up in pen argyl and have spent the majority of my life in this area, I use the parks to relax. I am now resigned to spend as little time in this area as possible. I am a son of the area, I am in need, and the general response has been to treat me as a pariah behind my back. You cast your rumors about and this is the natural conclusion. Thank you for ruining my home and becoming soulless...
Read moreWind Gap park is a beautiful park. There is parking, including handicap ♿️ and there is a nice ramp from the parking lot into the park, so it's very handicap accessible. There is pavement to walk on as well, and a nice walking trail. There is a small part of the trail that could not be paved, so that would not be good for a wheelchair (as well as a steep hill), but it fine for a motorized scooter. You will have to use a newly installed sidewalk to get back to the park from the trail. Also good...
