I think some of the nightshift staff definitely needs some hospitality courses or to understand not everyone is an addict. I also understand the importance of prevention, but some people have real issues, and it is traumatic to have to go through health issues and not understand what's going on with your body and now a fear of being thought of as a seeker. Its absolutely heartbreaking and devastating. I have told people please check on me and call the emergency if you have too because I'm so paranoid of getting the wrong staff. Some staff is so amazing and looked into my history and helped me though some terrible nights. Some times I have made it in to the ER because of them, hoping that I get the staff that were super nice and professional. They helped me through my fears, and helped me understand that I was not being dramatic or crazy. They helped me through and even talked to me about how I shouldn't be afraid to cone in, they also said I can ask for new staff but honestly I would freeze up and just nod my head through the appointment instead of complaining. Thats why I decided to go ahead and leave this review. I wish I could remember the name of the doctor that helped me, he really made a difference in my mental health. The other parts of the hospital I have to give an applause for honestly, everyone I have had to go through has been pretty helpful including finding out I have some autoimmune issues that caused all the issues to begin with. The coffee shop in the hospital is the best and cheapest in town, best snacks. The staff that does bloodwork, x-ray and mri, all amazing. I wish I could call out names, but for the most part the hospital is amazing. Just stop judging people before you know...
Read moreHad an issue with my gallbladder late at night, and I was in extreme pain so I went in to the hospital and right away I was met with a kind person who was very helpful and patient. I then was taken to the back room and was met yet again by another kind person, the nurse, Sasha. She definitely knew what she was doing and made sure that she was gentle when drawing blood and would make conversations with both my husband and I. This made my husband and I feel at ease about the care I would receive. The doctor was just as friendly and professional. The hospital was clean and the people looked professional in appearance as well. My only downside of this experience was the MRI lady, Macey (I’m fairly certain was her name) was insensitive about the negative pregnancy test and broke the news like it wasn’t something that mattered after I told her that my husband and I had been trying for baby. We were so certain that this time we were going to be pregnant so for her to be rude and insensitive was not something we were impressed with, especially considering the nurse and doctor were compassionate about it. But overall,...
Read moreWhile we were traveling back from a 25 day trip for our 40th anniversary, I took my husband to the emergency room at Humbolt General Hospital,Thursday, May 8 with changes to his mentation and right sided weakness. We were so blessed to have such a wonderful emergency department staff. They were quick, efficient, and took him to CT scan in record time. Dr. Emily McLendon immediately called for a rapid transfer( helicopter) transport to Boise, ID, 30 minutes from our home, where they were able to start work immediately on his left sided subderal hematoma. Their quick actions made the complete difference in his outcome and I will forever be grateful and indebted to them for their excellent care. Nurse Destiny was a great source of strength and support to us and the transport team, Coleen and the Dr that went with them were wonderful, and even texted me when he arrived safely in Boise. 5 Stars is not enough to describe their care and support in one of our most challenging/ frightening times. Thank you you all for being the...
