Let me start by saying this, I've had some less than perfect experiences here in the last few months as well as a few others, but I want to share the one today that someone I think very highly of informed me about... first off, when someone asks for gluten free bread, there's no reason to have the worst kind of attitude about it. When you're in a customer service profession, the customer, most of the time, is always right. Instead, what she got was push back and excuses of why they wouldn't provide her with the bread she asked for, whether it was frozen, or they simply didn't want to. Second, preparing sandwiches without gloves on is a serious health violation and in this day and age out of the pandemic, is absolutely disgusting. If you're caught not using gloves and asked to change the bread out, accept you made an error and just do it. Third, communication behind the counter would have prevented the person who brought the sandwich out from questioning about the payment when payment had already been made, all while making a scene to a paying customer. Fourth, I don't know who your establishment hires for management, but when an on-duty manager decides to quickly take a phone order instead of assisting in diffusing the entire situation, it shows me that the culture here of quality products and even better customer service isn't the top of the priority list. The service, cleanliness, and product quality has taken a huge hit lately and this experience that was shared to me just really got under my skin, but the person who experienced this didn't...
Read moreGreat lunch spot, which is saying a lot for me because it's actually my least favorite meal of the day, but I just wanted to get out of the office more than anything else so I used this as the excuse! I had been here once before with coworkers and remembered having a great pastrami sandwich. This time around I ordered one of their specials, a turkey and pepperoni wrap (spinach) with mayo, lettuce, tomato, and banana peppers. I also couldn't resist and ordered a small side of their asian noodle salad. The wrap was huge, barely finished half, and the noodle salad was really tasty too, the sauce/dressing was a little thicker/creamier than I had expected, but it was delicious. Plenty of leftovers as usual. I did wait a bit, maybe 10-15 minutes in line because I arrived at 1230 during the lunch rush, but it was worth it. Pretty standard pricing, about $15. Bonus, they have beer and wine in case you need a little jolt of happy juice. Also, the place was all decked out for the holidays with a small lit up christmas tree and other ornaments/lighting, which I always appreciate with this being my favorite time of the year. Friendly service too. A good spot for a quick bite or a more leisurely meal...
Read moreNice array of sandwiches, but my friend and I had quite an awkward experience. We stood in line to order two club sandwiches. The lady waiting on us seemed irritated with us asking if there was a club sandwich available on the menu. She told us that the sandwiches could be made any way we wanted them. We ordered club sandwiches; however they were automatically wrapped to go. We noticed that everyone else’s sandwiches (Caucasian customers) were not wrapped at all and were placed on plates. We then moved up to the area to select sides from an array of pasta salads. It took what seemed like forever for someone to acknowledge us. However, two ladies (again, Caucasian) were able to go around us and select everything they desired without wait. When the lady serving us found out we wanted to dine in, she kind of shrugged us off and said “I’ll just give you the plates.” She simply placed our wrapped sandwiches on the plates. It seemed as if the service we received was subpar as compared to the locals…was our patronage any different? An experience filled with lots of micro-aggressions with what seemed to be subtle...
