Farm Fresh Market — Local services in Winter Haven

If your looking for great deals on meat, and a great variety of fresh vegetables and herbs. this a place worth checking out. If your picky about your surroundings....not so much. It is a small store that has put as much as possible in that space without making it overwhelming. The staff is very friendly and helpful. When living in Orlando I did the majority of my meat and fresh vegetable shopping at the store in my area but when I moved there wasn't one close by. I was very excited when a store opened in Winter Haven and I have not been disappointed. This week I picked up a 10lb box of sausage links for $10, pork chops at .99 per lb, 2- 3.5lb rolls of Canadian bacon for $5, 2 packs of Italian Sausage for $5. With grocery prices as high as they are, these prices are amazing! I wish zi could do ½ stars because that is what I would actually rate them. I can't describe how disgusted and scared I felt after visiting yesterday. It wasn't the sunken-eyed rotten fish or the smelly pieces of pork in buckets, or the ridiculous prices, though they certainly left a nasty impression as well. But rather how I was treated. I got catcalled by the men behind the fish stall and I had to pretend I couldn't hear them (I had my headphones on but it was loud enough) so that I wouldn't attract any more unwanted attention. After looking at the seafood on display for a bit, another guy came up and pretended to ask me if I liked what I saw all while he studied me as if I was another piece of meat for display. You can't treat people like that! You also cannot sell rotting meat and charge an arm and a leg for it. Worst...

I stopped by Farm Fresh on the hill in Winter Haven to pick up a case of chicken wings, which cost $29. I remember when the same case used to be around $19. It is clear that prices have really gone up over time.

The overall shopping experience was decent. The staff was fairly friendly and helpful during my visit. While the price increase was noticeable and a bit disappointing, I understand that costs have risen everywhere these days.
