I could never, in good faith, recommend anyone to Majestic Jewelers based on my experience. I’ve never met a person so confidently wrong about a gemstone. It makes me question the stores knowledge. Go elsewhere.

I was recently in Sri Lanka. I bought a golden yellow sapphire ring at a large jewelry store recommended by our Sri Lankan guide. Our guide told us that many jewelry stores sell fake sapphires. The jewelry store made us watch a video of how the sapphires were mined. At purchase, the gem was provided with a Guarantee of Authenticity. Being the paranoid person I am, I decide to confirm the sapphire I purchased was real. The gemologist I wanted to visit couldn’t see me until 5 days later. I called Majestic Jewelers to see if they could identify stones. They said yes. I go in. I tell the woman I called and asked her if she could confirm my gemstone was a sapphire. She took the ring and went in back. 60 seconds later, she comes back and hands me back my ring. She said she cleaned it. I was confused. Again, I said, I wanted to confirm it was a sapphire. She looks at the ring and says based on the color, it’s a Topaz. In my mind, I know sapphires come in all colors of the rainbow. Me thinking they have a machine that can confirm, I ask her if she can confirm. She looked annoyed. She goes in back. 2 mins later, she comes out and says “I was right. It’s a Topaz”. I’m in shock. Because, in my mind, I was literally in Sri Lanka in a large jewelry store that came with a guarantee of authenticity that it was a real sapphire. The woman then immediately attempts to sell me a “real yellow sapphire”. I asked her how she knew it was a topaz. She actually looked offended I asked. She says she checked the hardness. That topaz and sapphires are far a part. At some point she says to me, “I thought you wanted me to tighten the stone”. It was bizarre. Thank goodness she didn’t touch my ring. Btw, this all happened in a matter of 7-8mins from walking into the store. I left defeated. I thought she was going to say, it’s a fake sapphire not an entirely different gemstone.

Cut to me going to the gemologist I wanted to go too. He not only took the stone and analyzed it with a bunch of tools, he gave me an in-depth tutorial of how to identify natural and heated sapphire. He even explained to me my stones unique color. Plus, other identifying characteristics of real sapphires. He confirmed YES it is a real sapphire.

I was in the market for an engagement ring for my girlfriend and Majestic was recommended to me by a few of our family friends. I'm glad I went to Majestic because my experience was excellent. I personally dealt with Kim and Danny the owner, and I felt they really seemed to care about the customer rather than just trying to sell me a ring. I'm sure that's why they've been in business for over 30+ years! Kim was great at working with me to find a beautiful diamond within my budget and helped me pick out a custom design setting that they actually designed and created in their workshop. The ring came out looking amazing but unfortunately my now fiancé is kind of picky and she wanted something changed to the ring mount. I was a little reluctant to bring the ring back and ask for it to be modified since it was so gorgeous, but to my surprise, after talking to Danny on the phone, he was more than happy to modify the ring for my fiancé. I was even more surprised to find out that he insisted on modifying the ring free of charge even though it was designed exactly to what I had specified originally. That's what I call excellent customer service!!! it's been about 2 weeks now since my fiancé has had her new engagement ring, and she absolutely adores it! All of her friends have asked to try it on, and she constantly tells me she'll get compliments from random people about it. We couldn't be any more thrilled with the outcome! I am not usually one to write a negative review but this has bothered me since it happened. I live close to this store and needed some links taken out of my new watch. I had just gotten out of work and arrived about 20 minutes before closing but figured it was something that could be taken care of easily, and that I would not be inconviencing any of the employees. Immediately upon entering the store, I regretted it. The employee who assisted me made me feel as though i shouldnt be there and was condescending and short with me when discussing the number of links that needed to be taken out. I just stood there, taken aback by our interaction. I couldn't believe I was being talked to this way. It was not until she took down my address, that her attitude changed and she became more cordial. By then, it was too late though. I was so put off, I quickly paid and left. I don't know why I was treated this way? I was in dress clothes coming from work. Maybe it was my age (I am in my 30's)? Not sure what the deal was?
