My children and I went to see the new Buzz, along with 2 of my family members and their children. Out of nowhere a lady with a black shirt and cut out designs on her sleeves came over very rudly and said "you need to get your children and keep them put!" Right from the start, she was extremely rude and very inappropriate. To begin with she came straight to myself and just stated what she did. She did not introduce herself once, I had to ask who she was. In which I got "oh. I am the general manager here!" With a snarling voice. Remember, I have never met this women ever. The way me and my family was treated was uncalled for. If anyone has ever been to this theater, especially during children films. Kids are normally rambunctious, to a limit of course. We do not let our children run and scream during a movie. Although, Many times kids are signing or dancing along with the movies. It is a well known kids theater if you will. Personally, My own child never once left her seat, the ENTIRE movie. I also have a 4 year old and there was a 3 year old and a 1 year old with us. Along with 5 older children. There was also another family with children who were also out of their seat and making noises, probably about 2 years old. This so called "manager" never once said anything to this other family.
Once we were leaving they begun clearing off our table before we had the chance to gather all of our belongings. I told the waiter please don't throw away my cup. The same manager proceeded to say "well you shouldn't of even brought that in" ( It was an outside drink, that I asked the gentleman at the door if I could have it). But the manager decided to tell me I shouldn't of brought it in. And threw it away!! I was born and raised right here in winter park. Along with my parents and my grandparents. I have been coming to this theater for years. And I have NEVER been treated this way for absolutely no reason. The disrespectful attitude was beyond words, especially for a "general manager". There is something called service recovery and customer service that this owner most likely needs to address with their employees. Along with general respect for another human being that you have never met. And a side note, her shirt is not appropriate in a workplace. All around not professional. And her name was Tammy , which a server had to provide me...
Read moreAfter reading other reviews on this place before giving it a try I went waiting for something awful and bad to happen. Nothing ever did. It was awesome! The only negative thing I can think of was there is no benefit to pre-buying your tickets online. At other theaters you don't have to wait in line with people who are buying at the window because there are two lines. One line for people who don't pre-buy their tickets online and one line for just showing that you already have tickets. At Aloma Cinema Grill the person you buy your ticket from and the person you show you already have tickets is the same person so you have to wait with everyone else. There is a benefit to NOT buying your tickets online and that would be they say online purchases are non-refundable so if you buy online and get a flat tire on the way they will not refund your ticket but if you wait to buy your ticket at the window because you have to stand in that line anyway and you get a flat tire then you are not out the money for the ticket because you haven't bought it yet. Like everyone else says in their review, the movies are cheap and the food is expensive. Both true but the experience of being waited on hand and foot while you comfortably sit in your chairs laughing and talking with your friends or family waiting for the movie to start makes up for the expensive food. It sure beat waiting in line and being rushed because the movie was about to start. We got bacon cheese burgers that come with fries. The burgers were actually good and fresh. I got a Pepsi knowing refills were not free so I rationed it and it lasted me through my meal. I would describe the food as one level above bowling alley food. Others have said get there early to get a good seat but that was not our experience at all. We went to the 6:45 Mary Poppins on Sunday night. We got there about 6:30 and to my surprise the theater was not full. There were plenty of good seats available and the theater was not full when the movie started and never filled up. There are no movie previews or commercials so the movie starts on time. This was definitely a five star experience and I would highly recommend you ignore the negative reviews of negative people because life is what...
Read moreThis is one of a kind unique movie theater. I have been coming here for about 13 years now. It used to show older movies and then out of no where they sent me a folded up coupon book of discounts on food, tickets etc. Now its newer movies.
Students get a discount just bring your student ID
Tickets are cheaper than any theater I ever went too without the student discount.
Before: Seating is NICE (leather), spacious, and all on one level (unless you to to the far right side). Now: These rolling chairs like old office chairs are in place.
Surround sound, and the latest movies out. There is 3 theaters.
They serve alcohol and wine.
*The only kicker is the food PRICES. Now mind you I been coming for some time now, and the "Ultimate Nachos" have severely changed. To the point I am not ordering them anymore. They lost the flavoring and either changed the meat or something. It isn't what it used to be. I have tried other items on the menu but this isn't a restaurant. Its a movie theater. My advice is hit up the Chinese restaurant next to them before eating there. It will save you a lot. The prices have gone up significantly. Oh and buy the PITCHER of soda, refills aren't free.
Servers are honestly awesome. Some even cute. lol. But in all seriousness, they try not to interrupt your movie, gather your information for orders before the movie, and have courtesy of others sitting behind you to NOT stand unlike some places I have been. I have seen recent reviews about servers interrupting the movie experience to clean the table.
Also remember to leave a tip as they are Servers.
*Bathrooms lets just say save it until you get home.
Parking - easy and simple. Traffic going there now that can be bloody dreadful.
Before: Also keep in mind this is a place you may want to bring your "significant other" as there is love seats, and its much more quieter and enjoyable. Spacious, and much more privacy unlike most theaters. Now: There is only individual seats. This is a dinner theater after all. I have yet to see a child/kids/screamers/cryers of bundle and joy in there unless its a kids move ie Finding Nemo had a few.
Smoking is NOT allowed :)
Limited show times also. So always check...
