If you're going to have a drink in Winthrop Harbor, you will find no better place. Friendly, attentive staff Unpretentious atmosphere Great prices Juke box Video gaming (if you're into that)

Open to the public, but you have to ring the doorbell to get in. The clientele here is typically over 40 and veterans, but everyone is welcome. There are some snack options at the bar, but no menu. Feel free to bring in your own food, or eat before you come in. First Sunday of the month (Oct-Jun) there is a delicious...

I found the members present friendly and the atmosphere congenial. I joined on the spot. I found it a nice place to relax. 02/17/2022: Winthrop Harbor VFW post is returning to normal. The 1st Sunday of the month breakfast and the 4th Saturday of the month meat raffle are great events. A DJ is now working to make the weekend more...
