The Barnyard Cinema — Local services in Winthrop

We love going to the movies, and this is one of our favorite theaters. Every time we visit Winthrop, at least one visit to The Barnyard is on the agenda. They always have a rotation of fabulous first-run films, the seats are very comfortable, the screen is great, the sound system fantastic and prior to the film starting, it is glorious to stare out the huge wall of windows at the view. The lush velvet curtain sliding in front of the windows and the screen descending help to build your excitement for the film. It’s really a perfect experience, and the popcorn is delicious. Coolest movie house anywhere. Best popcorn spice bar as well. Beer and wine too. Sweet spacious recliners. Best part was while you're sipping your local micro brew IPA and nibbling your nutritional yeast garlic and red pepper popcorn the screen is up and the entire wall behind the screen is windows exposing an incredible view of the North Cascade Mountains. At show time lites and the screen come down totally darkening the intimate room. Show time. The other cool aspect is its community supported, you can be a member and get discounts on tickets. Looks like a great theater space but good luck finding a seat next to your companions. The regulars have obviously figured out that you need to arrive very early and claim all the seats with your jackets. Theater needs to offer reserved seats, or provide an usher to seat parties together for general admission.
