We did an overnight in Winthrop during our trip on the 20 loop and stopped by on our way back home. This was pretty cool, lots of equipment and machinery that was used back in the mining days are on display outside that stretched across the street. My guy likes that type of stuff so we were there a good hour🙄. They also have buildings that match the town's Old West vibe on display with different themes and materials. Family and dog friendly. Will go again, mainly because the guy will drag me, lol 😆

Was just going to do a cursory pass-through... ended up spending nearly THREE hours at the fascinating frontier displays of early pioneer life. Super cool, I especially liked the press/newspaper cabin with the antique presses, type blocks and plates. Also fascinating were the doctor's office, school room, dress-maker's, farm and manufacturing equipment, transportation, general store and massive rifle/gun display. Can't wait to go back and check it out further someday

I visited this museum for the first time back in 2010 and 13 years later I am here again and not much has changed. The min donation is $5 and they have multiple donation boxes on the grounds. The museum has 3 areas: Village area (indoor/outdoor), a Mining area (outdoor) and a Farming area (outdoor). Very fun place to explore. My favorite is the Doc John's house; it contains old medical tools including a tooth extractor and a lot of medicine bottles.
