I want to give it five stars because the food is absolutely superb. However, the service is pretty lacking so, I can’t quite rate the Fainting Goat as high as I would like. Maybe they can redeem the experience my next visit. Food: absolutely just stellar. The mussels were perfect, filling, and seasoned with just the right amount of spice and savory wine broth. The salami and tomato’s were a nice touch and the bread to soak up all the broth was perfectly toasted. The tiramisu is HEAVENLY! An absolute must in your gastronomical journey here. I still am dreaming about it today. I had to finish every bite. The Rhubarb Basil cocktail was perfect-not too sweet, just tart enough and the basil was a nice subtle note. The service: we were a group of four and didn’t have a reservation. We showed up at 6:55 and were told there was nothing available in the dining room. We opted to wait for the bar which is very small-seats about 12 persons. 45 minutes later, we were able to be seated. One seated; it was pretty slow going to get cocktails and then probably another 15 minutes before we were able to order food. The bartender is responsible for making all the drinks for both the bar and the restaurant and also take orders and serve the bar patrons their food. It’s not a quick turnaround and we watched several groups of people leave due to the wait. We also witnessed two reservations have to wait 20-40 min past their scheduled reservation time before being seated at their table. So there’s some service kinks to be worked out. We only saw the bar and it is cozy and has a nice picture window with a river view. I would say reservation recommended or go on a non weekend night if you want good service.

We booked a table online with zero hassle and ended up having one of the best lunches ever at The Fainting Goat! From the moment we sat down, Katie made us feel like VIPs—she was friendly, attentive, and spot-on with recommendations. Sammie also jumped in with flawless service, so we felt totally taken care of. We kicked things off with the Beet & Chèvre Salad and the Fall Harvest Salad—both total showstoppers. Fresh, vibrant, A+ all the way. And the lemonade? Hands down the best lemonade I’ve ever had anywhere. If you go, promise me you’ll order it. For mains, we tried the Peanut Bowl and the Gyro, and wow—flavors that totally surprised us in the best way. Everything felt unique, fresh, and memorable. The inside vibe is cozy but stylish, with art and décor that are just as fun as the food. Honestly, it all added up to a 10/10 in food, atmosphere, and service. We’ll absolutely be back next time we’re in Winthrop. Big thanks to the team for such a perfect experience!

My friend and I came in hoping to get dinner but were turned away because we needed a reservation ... So we came in the next morning for breakfast . I ordered Turkish eggs with yogurt, and my friend ordered the beet and chévre salad with chicken. My Turkish eggs were ok, but I was still hungry after eating it, so ordered roasted cauliflower after. The roasted cauliflower was good but needed more salt. My friend's salad was decent but he tore away a lot of the breading as it was deep fried. The service was good and we had a great view of the mountains from the window and the ambiance is cozy. Definitely recommend getting a reservation if you decide to come for dinner or brunch.

I walk into the place which is fairly wheelchair accessible. There's this tiny little bar right in front of you. When you get there and a sign that says, please wait to be seated. But the staff rarely come out to the front area to see if there's guests there. The food I received was not. An appropriate amount. I bought 4 breakfast and it cost me a $100. Not only that, I didn't get my entire order. They did not include napkins. And they forgot my drinks. I had to come back to the restaurant and pick up my orange juices that I ordered. And I could understand if this place was like, really busy, but it was not, and it took them. A really long time to make my food and they still forgot items from my order. The place has potential. There's a yeah twenty percent chance The food I received was not. An appropriate amount. I bought 4 breakfast and it cost me a $100. Not only that, I didn't get my entire order. They did a great job with the décor I can feel the vibe. They were going for I bet they ended up with, a dive bar. That...
