The Fresh Grocer of Inman Ave. — Local services in Woodbridge Township

I'll preface this review by mentioning I'm extremely picky about where I do my grocery shopping. My go to stores are Wegman's and King's; both have great selection, lots of organic choices and friendly service.

Today, I happened to be across the street from the Super Foodtown in Colonia. I've lived only about 1 mile from it for 6 years and never knew it existed. I didn't have a lot of time today to devote to a big shopping trip so I ran in and hoped for the best.

I was pleasantly surprised! The outside does not accurately represent the quality inside. There were plenty of organic choices and everything in the produce department look fresh. Decent choice of fish, bakery items and deli too. The best part was how many out of the ordinary items they carry. For instance, a huge selection of Bob's Red Mill products - maybe the best of any store I've been in. And other things I haven't seen in local supermarkets. Their fresh pizza dough looked particularly good!

My only disappointment was the meat and poultry options and, the brands of milk they stock. I think they can use some upgrading in that department but there certainly was enough to choose from had I been in the market for those items. Large containers of organic milk were not available and I really dislike buying smaller ones as we drink too much of it and the cost per ounce is too high.

I chatted with a couple of employees and was informed that they are on the verge of a renovation. The store needs it as the appearance is somewhat out dated and shabby. I only hope that once they do, that it the upgrade doesn't effect the good service and laid back atmosphere.

I have been shopping here since it was Foodtown for the past 15 years !!!! Tonight 10/12/2024 I checked closing time was 10:00 pm on their website I arrive at 8:56 pm the nice girl outside the supermarket told me they were closing soon but if I needed couple of items to go in so I did . I only needed 6 items as I’m walking in I grab water then I was nice enough to apologize to the cashier wearing a polo skinny black jeans and auburn hair color put back in a pony tail I said I’m only grabbing 5 more items the African American big guy said it was ok, while this lady in her 60’s? Said no! We are closing in 2 mins you have to go ! Are you serious ? I asked her to repeat what she said because I thought I heard wrong? She gladly repeated !!!!! So with this being said I would NEVER shop here again I was descrimated I was thrown out !!! And didn’t apologize she’s an evil tired and she hates her job ! This won’t end here in will contact my attorney for sure … bye see you never again and will make sure I tell everyone in Colonia hats off for the racist lady that kicked me out of your store I sure won’t come in here even in an emergency rather drive to shop rite anytime I will tell them Too...

I like this store and almost always when I visit this store the experience is a good one. I realize that they employ very young cashiers and clerks at this store but usually they are friendly and cordial. The deli department rocks! Last night I ran into the store at about 9 p.m. to pick up just a few items. I stopped at the Customer Service counter to purchase something. Oh my gosh the Customer Service clerk named Sam (Samantha) made me feel like I was inconveniencing her life!! She was so rude to me yelling from outside the Customer Service counter if she could help me and then huffing and puffing because I wanted to make a purchase. She rushed through the purchase I made and then slammed the register drawer shut. I said Thank you but RUDE Sam said nothing to me! Then a few minutes later Sam is hanging out in one of the aisles talking and joking around with one of the floor clerks! Really?? And if that wasn't enough, Sam was walking around the store talking to just about EVERY other employee in the store. How rude is that that a little while earlier she couldn't even say Thank you to me or Have a nice evening. Geez Very very RUDE...
