
I would not recommend going to any planet fitness if youâre lifting to lose weight. Gym is fine, just for a place that prides itself on not judging others they certainly do pick and choose what not to judge on, they have an alarm on the wall with some made up term to call people out for grunting, dropping weights and judging. Kinda judgmental in itself to set off an alarm for someone grunting to loud while working out itâs a gym. 90 percent of people have headphones in, but heaven forbid you make noise in this gym theyâll embarrass you for grunting on your last set, kind of the opposite of the whole this is a non judgmental place. Honestly most judgmental gym Iâve been to. Your new slogan should be we sound alarms when fat people work out and make to much noise.
Edit: So their reply is basically we embarrass people so some hypothetical person doesnât feel threatened by someone lifting weights at a gym? Iâm lifting and believe it or not when you are pushing yourself to lose weight on the last set sometimes you grunt through the pain. Shouldnât be put on blast because Iâm pushing myself during a workout. Grunts of pain when working out are normal, want to make them feel safe explain to them that people grunt when they work out. Thatâs life. Itâs a gym.
Edit part 2: Also if they donât like your attitude when you tell them to not touch your stuff when they randomly try to grab it without talking to you first they have another employee come and treat you like a child telling you to stop running and pick up the jacket now and if you give them any attitude while doing it they will kick you out. Beyond rude and immature staff. Felt like I was in high school again. I found out my aunt is dying the day before so I wasnât in the best of moods but i am a paying customer there and shouldnât be treated like that just because I have a little attitude which was met with extreme hostility even though they were the ones who started the engagement off wrong by trying to just grab my items without my permission. Although the gym is small, parking is an issue and there isnât many machines like other PFs, itâs still a decent gym to do what you need. However, the employees need customer service training. I downgraded my membership from the black card to the classic and paid the fee to do so. A few weeks later, i checked my app just to make sure that my billing had been changed. Instead of it being changed it displayed an annual fee of 46 dollars or so. I called And asked an employee to explain the fee to me and he couldnât give me a solid answer. I then Asked to speak to the manager and he told me sheâs busy youâre just going to have to come in. He didnât offer to take a note, leave a message for her or have her call when she wasnât busy. I asked To speak to whatever manager was on duty and was put on with a young lady. She explained the issue with my billing was due to me downgrading and the payment not reflecting on my next billing cycle so they applied it to the following months to compensate. Fine. However my app was still showing the fee of 46 dollars. I gave It a day and called back to see if there was any way that would update and was told Iâd have to call app support bc they canât control the app and that they have literally already fixed it on their end. Literally and canât control the app are both unprofessional answers. I told Them that i didnât appreciate the attitude when i clearly Wasnât explained about my billing and if i hadnt Called i would have never even know about the mix up on their end. I came to the gym and finally spoke to the actual manager. Still an attitude and questions being asked as if i should Be providing them with exact dates and things. Unnecessary. This location isnât bad but customer service is lacking. Had i been Called and updated about the issue in the first place i wouldnt have had to call with so many questions and have frustration because i was confused.    Read moreOK update, March 2025. Yesterday I spoke to the girl working the front desk. I mentioned that it was annoying to be on the treadmill with the person next to me blasting their music out of their phone. She said, "I'm not doing anything about that,." I suggested headphones and she responded, "Maybe they can't afford headphones. Ever think of that?" Then she said "What else?"
I mentioned the dumbbells and other weights are all over the gym. She replied, "People don't put their stuff back. That's not my fault." Then she said, "Maybe you should go to the Lorton Planet Fitness."
You can't make this stuff up.... 8 years of loyalty doesn't even buy you a respectful conversation with the staff.
February 2025: Where to start. I've been a Planet Fitness Black Card member for many years. I travel a lot so I get to see PF's everywhere. This one has all of the equipment you need for a great workout. That's where the good ends.
Every day, without fail there are at least one or two people blasting their own music from their phones, while the house music is playing. Literally anytime you walk into the gym there are dumbbells and/or weight bars left in random places. People are talking on their phones everywhere in the gym. The staff, while really friendly, do nothing to fix any of these issues.
Now the gym is under construction and has been for months and will be for months. The Black Card is useless as none of the massage chairs, tanning beds, etc. and usable which may amount for 8-9 months or more by the time the construction is finished.
Top it off now with this... there has been no heat in the building for weeks, just inadequate space heaters. I'm being kind giving this...
