I’m completely disgusted with my experience at this location. I will be the first to acknowledge that going forward whenever paying with cash I will keep my receipts. Nevertheless, I purchased a drill for my father and wasn’t aware that I needed to purchase the battery separate, I thought everything was included in the box, this shows how much I know about tools. I contacted customer care after realizing that I lost my receipt, they instructed me to take the drill to the customer service counter and they would give me store credit for my purchase. Without my receipt, that’s fair in my opinion. I went to this location and attempted to return my item, the cashier was very nice (I can’t remember her name but she has blonde dreadlocks). She proceeded with my return informing exactly what customer care informed me, without my receipt I would receive my refund in the form of store credit. I informed her that was completely fine. The cashier then asked for my ID, she scanned my DL and then informed me that my return was declined. I asked why and she told me that it does that often with tools, I then asked to speak with a manager, reiterating that customer care sent me to the store and said I would receive store credit at least. This is when things completely went south.
Manager, Aaron York, came out looking like he did not want to be bothered. He informed me that after the system declines me, it is out of his hands. I then informed him again that customer care sent me into the store and said I would get my refund. Aaron continued to inform me what he could not do and never truly attempted to help me. I asked for his managers info, he then informed me that he was the manager of the store, I informed him that I understood such and wanted to speak to his supervisor, which I called his District Manager. Aaron states that he could not give me his contact information, informing me that I would have to call customer service for this information. I asked him why would the system decline me, he stated it was most likely because I have returned too many items, I then informed him that I don’t shop at Home Depot and that I have never returned anything to them. He then stated that he does not know and maybe the system communicates with other stores, as to imply that I return good frequently. I find that insulting! He the said he would run it again, he scanned my ID and the return was declined again! He said “feel free to call customer service back”, I stated “you want me to call the same number that told me to come here in the first place”, Aaron then stated he had another number for me, writing it down on his business card and then walking away.
I don’t think he counted on me attempting to place the call while I was standing in the store, the number he gave me, connected me to Home Depot’s benefits department, as if I was an employee. I had the cashier call him back and he then gave me the same number I originally. I’m not sure how Aaron is the store Manager, as he lacks the ability to deliver on customer experience. How has your Store Manager not memorized the number to customer service? However, I believe he gave me the wrong number intentionally.
Your return system is flawed! You should also educate your employees on the reason why customers are declined and not group everyone in the same category. I believe that this system is profiling people based off race. This has to be the reason, as I am not a frequent shopper of Home Depot and have never returned anything at any of your stores.
I would like a call back and explanation as to why I was declined and...
Read moreFirst I need to say that I have shopped, bought and rented from this store numerous times. There have been uneventful days and way too many blunders. I went Saturday with my wife to pick up shelving units she ordered on Thursday. They showed 11 in stock shoe orders and PAYS for them. She waited for them to let her know when her order was ready for pickup. Finally on Saturday she calls to ask about her order. She is told they were going to find out and call her back. 1 Hour goes buy, no call. So we drove over there to ask. Waits in line for 10 minutes and yet again, they are going to look for it. Young man tells her there are no shelves there available, their online quantities are off because of COVID19! Gives her this long winded non-sense that was all not even believable. While this is happening, I am shopping for a dryer and electrical supplies I needed. I was looking at the dryers, there was no one around in that department to ask any questions. My wife finally cancels her order, comes back by me. She ask one of the 3 people working in the kitchen section for assistance and we are told that the people working the appliances are in the break room. They'll be back when break is over! Needless to say we left there buying nothing and headed to Menards. This is not the first time this has happened, I keep going back because I think things might change. Customer service here is horrible. I like their goods, I keep giving them chances, but unfortunately it just keeps happening. Sad, I really like Home Depot, just this...
Read moreposting about my significant other's (SO's) experience My SO came to this home depot looking for an asbestos testing kit. He asked an employee who acted like he had no idea what was being asked. The employee told him " you know that's not how you say asbestos right?" and then said "i don't think we have that", and began to walk away. My SO assumed we are going to take a walk and see if you have this item or not, so he began to follow the Home Depot employee. Apparently that was a misunderstanding because at this point the employee turned around looks at my SO and says "oh okay i guess i will go check then". At this point another employee comes up & asked about the disgusted look on the 1st employees face & is told by employee #1 that we are looking for an asbestos testing kit. Employee #2 says "yea i don't think we have that". At this point employee #1 decided he will abort his mission to search and just says " yeah i don't think we have that". At this point both employees walk away without saying another word. Nice Customer Service Home Depot. Just know that "i don't think we will be returning". I hope Home Depot is proud of the fact that their employees turn away paying customers just because they are too lazy to check if they carry a certain item. Sorry for asking for any help in the first place. Sadly Walmart was much...
