True experienced watchmakers whom are independent are a dime and a dozen nowadays. I came across Joshua's business on YouTube (search Joshua's Watch Repair) and was ecstatic to have found him and his business locally!
Purchasing on the secondary market can be scary esp. with how good fakes are getting and the frakenwatches of the world. I reached out to Joshua for an authentication service of my newly acquired timepiece. He was extremely welcoming and professional from our initial conversation to the actual authentication process completed today. The process included:
-Visual check to verify serial & model number matches on watch & warranty card -Visual check to verify crystal, dial, hands, bezel, braclet are real -Open Caseback to check movement -Timeographer to check for accuracy
Service was prompt, friendly, professional, and definitely put my mind to ease about the purchase. It was also great to see other watch enthusiasts pop into the store for some good conversation. We also discussed some work that I am looking to have completed to another watch and I will most definitely be coming back! Thank you...

I went to get my grandfather's watch cleaned and the battery replaced. The clasp wouldn't close and the watch was clearly dead. I was charged $75 for the cleaning and new battery, but 3 days later the clasp still kept falling off and the watch started to die again. When I went back to inquire why, I was told it would be $225 more for a "deeper clean" to get it working.
Even worse, now my watch, which had a 300m water resistance started fogging up after washing my hands. He destroyed the seal.
While I was there, I bought my wife a $900 watch. After 2 weeks of wear, no water and not even heavy wear, the suede band started to crack and come apart. I was told the band wasn't part of the warranty and no refunds.
I would NOT recommend this business to anyone, even for the most simple of services, like changing a watch...
Read moreJoshua is a real, traditionally trained, and highly qualified watchmaker. Not only is he a gifted craftsman who can overhaul your watch and refurbish the case, he is also a fine gentleman and you will find it a pleasure to do business with him. He is servicing my third watch now and I intend to keep bringing more to him in the future. I highly recommend his services.
Edit: I have now taken my 5th watch to Joshua for service. In addition to 2 Seikos and 2 Omegas, this time, an Omega quartz watch. A quartz analog watch has mechanical components requiring many of the same considerations as a mechanical watch such as cleaning and lubrication. Don't forget that your older watch probably is not as water resistant as it once was and Joshua can replace the gaskets and do a standard pressure test. I'm super pleased once again with his service and not only is my watch better on the inside, it looks better on the...
