I rarely leave reviews like this, but more than a few people encouraged me to. I have supported Stony Creek Beads for years. Attending classes and purchasing materials from this store. The owner was very distant, not helpful, friendly, or talkative. I assumed that it would change because I knew that I would become a regular customer. I even brought my son to support her business, who is autistic and loves making things using beads. We have spent a lot of money there. I had to come to the conclusion that I will never receive a warm reception from her. I have seen her smile and greet other customers differently. When I come in she says "hi", and immediately tends to whatever craft she's working on, doesn't show me around, make any suggestions, and responses to any of my questions are extremely short ("yes", "no", "over there"). I am not one to play the race card, but I honestly can't think of anything else that set me and my son apart from any other customer other than the color of our skin, especially since we have supported her business for so long. Sometimes she acts as if she doesn't know us at all.
This review doesn't have to be anonymous, because the owner will undoubtedly know who I am. There is another review that confirms by suspicion by an anonymous lady that is 5 years old, so I know that I'm not crazy. It's sad... I hate to leave this review, but I refuse to spend another dime in her store, or step foot in...

Read moreKim, the owner, is amazing. I came here for a trunk show on the recommendation of a friend and then took a class for an amazing Christmas ornament. You'll be greeted upon entering and asked if you need help finding anything. If you're coming looking for something specific, take them up on their offer otherwise you'll be here for hours. Beads of glass, freshwater pearls, stones of all shapes and sizes. Very well organized and labeled so if you're looking to pattern supplies you can find what you need very easily but I always get lost in the "Oh! So...
