About a month back I called the AlReem Restaurant to ask some questions regarding the meat suppliers used by the restaurant. I had called to ask these questions due to religious and personal preferences and I always call restaurants beforehand to inquire about these questions. Usually I am assisted very nicely and all my questions and concerns are always answered, however when I called AlReem I did not experience this. The first staff member who picked up the phone had handed the phone to the owner who was immediately rude without even taking the time to hear my question or even hear why I was asking. He got defensive and rude about the fact that the suppliers the restaurant uses are confidential. I am in my last year obtaining a degree in hotel and restaurant management and I am very well aware of all the laws and regulations that restaurants have to follow. And there is no such thing as restaurants having to keep suppliers confidential, on the contrary restaurants are mandated to truthfully answer questions regarding the food and suppliers with the ever growing number of food allergies and food restrictions and preferences. The owner then rudely asked for my name and asked which organization I work for. When I stated I do not work for any organization and was simply asking due to my religious and personal preferences. He got angrier and stated the suppliers of a restaurant are confidential to which I told him it is not because I am in this industry and I am well aware of the rules and regulations and what is confidential and what is not. After hearing this he accused me of trying to steal his suppliers and trying to take his business, which is an immature way for someone to act especially when I had told him I am just asking for myself and do not own any type of business that would ‘steal’ his customers. At this point I had realized the owner will not be giving me any answers so I chose to simply hang up and made a point to never go to AlReem and when people would ask me about it I would simply be honest and tell them the staff and owners of AlReem have no respect for people asking questions and possible customers. The way the owner acted was immature, rude and out of line. Especially when the restaurant industry is a service based industry and comes under hospitality and the way he acted and reacted was far from hospitable or adequate customer service. I would suggest the owner and staff of AlReem take some extensive courses and training in better customer service and proper methods of responding when a possible customer asks a question. I have a very large social circle and am often asked to give restaurant suggestions and I know for a fact I will not be suggesting AlReem to...
Read moreWe’ve tried this restaurant more than once, and every time it exceeds our expectations! Previously, we had their grilled meats, which were absolutely delicious and reasonably priced.
Today, we came back to try their breakfast — we ordered falafel, hummus, and tomato skillet with meat. And honestly, the falafel is the best we’ve had in any restaurant in Michigan — it tastes just like the falafel back home in Jordan. The hummus was smooth and flavorful, and everything was fresh and served hot.
The restaurant also has a beautiful view, which made the experience even better.
Highly recommend this place for both breakfast and lunch. We’ll definitely be...
Read moreI tried their falafel original sandwich and it was pretty dang good! And when you add in that it's only seven bucks, it's a good deal. I will definitely get it again.
I also got the fries and there's less to write about here. A solid fry you've had a million times. Nothing to complain about though.
EDIT: at the time of the review, I also got the fattoush salad, but didn't eat it. Two days later it held up well and it's a nice solid salad. I'm happy to see a new restaurant with good food move in.
Oh and as for only 3 stars on atmosphere, this is really just a...
