The sushi, Japanese spring rolls, and gyoza were amazing! I also really like the dècor there. Unfortunately, the waitstaff is the only reason why this restaurant is only getting one star; what abysmal service. After my husband, in-laws, and I were served drinks and our orders were taken, we waited an hour just for the appetizers. That’s right, a full hour with just drinks and other tables that came after us were being brought food before our appetizers came out. It got a little busier, but that was after our orders were taken. We would have flagged down our waitress, but she avoided us entirely after taking our order. Our sushi order was big, so we would have been totally happy with getting our appetizers first, then the sushi. But there was no effort at communication after taking our orders, not even checking in to refill our drinks, give us time estimates for our food, apologize for the wait…nothing. Other waitstaff saw us in this limbo and passed us by.

Eventually, a different waitress brought us our food and tried to short change us on our appetizers. Our original waitress told us that there were four spring rolls per order; we got six between two orders of rolls when there should have been eight. We informed the second waitress of what we were told, only to be returned with an attitude full of contempt, then take another thirty minutes to provide two missing spring rolls after trying to guilt us into taking just six. She made my husband, in-laws, and I feel like we were causing issues when we weren’t. Honestly, we were way more patient with the waitresses than we should have been. When the check came, my father-in-law left a ten percent tip, but if I were the one paying, I would have left not a single cent for a tip. And this is coming from me, someone who bent over backwards for customers as a waitress before the pandemic.

Visiting from out of state for a bowling tournament, and went to this place for the reviews understanding what it would cost as it was dinner time. We walk in and it wasnt very busy things were going fine and got the menu. Ordered teriyaki salmon and my dad order the teriyaki shrimp and got an appetizer of shrimp tempura. Both meals supposed to come with rice, vegetables, soup and salad for 18.99. The appetizer was good have no complaints of that, probably the best thing out of everything. The soup was miso and to be honest did not have good flavor depends on taste. The shrimp that was ordered were overcooked causing it to be tough and VERY few vegetables. On my plate there were 3 pieces of broccoli and then 3 pieces of carrots and the rest of the plate being onions. I dont expect a bunch of everything but more than 3 pieces and definitely not the whole plate being onions as a layer. The environment of the place I enjoyed and as mentioned the food was not that good. The worst part of all was the service. Our waiter did the bare minimum barely. He took our drink orders, and our food answered the questions we had with "uhh yea.." dropped off the food and he wouldn't take the time of day to ask us how things were, if we needed anything, nothing. This other gentleman who was not our waiter was the one to speak to us and asked us if we needing anything and if everything was ok which was nice to be checked on. Just once or twice to be asked and thats it. The place was not that busy maybe 4 or less other tables full and our waiter was walking fast as if he did not want to speak to us. First time trying this place. The food was ok but the service was absolutely abysmal. We sat down, were provided menus, and were immediately asked what we wanted to drink when we hadn’t even opened them. Once decided, we ordered two drinks and only received one and had to ask again for the second, which I’m pretty sure he never took down in the first place. No water was provided until I asked and we only received one. Not a great start… but it got worse. After we placed our order, we waited FORTY FIVE minutes to receive it even though it wasn’t particularly busy when we arrived. We ordered an appetizer that never came and when I asked our server where it was they said it was still being cooked, which was a lie since only then did they put in the order and we waited until we were almost finished with our sushi to receive it and the batter was overcooked. Then the bill, which was for some unknown reason handled by a different server who proceeded to charge my card for a more expensive order that wasn’t ours! I mean seriously… so even though they voided it and recharged my card the correct amount I will have to monitor my account to check that it comes off. I would not recommend this place at all. The sushi is mediocre, the staff weren’t very friendly, and our server in particular was completely incompetent. Go down the road to Yotsuba, which is way better in all...
