The Dinner Detective Murder Mystery Dinner was such a fun and unique experience! At first, it was a little confusing, and it would have been nice to have more direction or explanations about what we were supposed to do. But once the show got started, the actors were amazing and kept everyone engaged the entire time. I couldn’t believe we were sitting with the murderer. It was such a surprise! This was a totally new experience for me, and it’s perfect if you’re looking for a social event. You’re seated at a table with random people, so it’s a great way to meet and talk to others. They offered coffee, tea, and a small appetizer while we waited for the show, which was a nice touch.
The food, unfortunately, was disappointing. We got the chicken picatta, and let’s just say everyone at the table needed to pass the salt. The chicken had no flavor, though the mashed potatoes were seasoned well enough. The portion sizes were pretty small, just a few veggies, a scoop of potatoes, and a small piece of chicken, so we ended up grabbing a bite to eat afterward. Also, the salads were already on the table when we arrived, and while that was fine, they were warm. The cheesecake for dessert was sitting out the whole time too, so it wasn’t fresh when we finally ate it. The bartender inside was also super slow, and drinks were overpriced ($9 for a vodka cranberry with barely any juice).
That being said, the show and the people made it totally worth it. It’s definitely more about the experience and the social aspect than the food, so just keep that in mind if you go. It’s something I’d recommend trying...
Read moreWhile it's a fun evening, it's way over priced for what you get.
It felt very unorganized. They were adapting table settings on the fly, and despite saying not to arrive before 615, they clearly are starting at that time. And they don't check id for entry.
You have desert, salad waiting for you and the appetizer are cold and never refreshed. And pointless because you are starting dinner right away. Half my salad was spoiled spinach. The vegetarian consisted of a spoonful of rice, 2 cauliflower 2 broccoli, some carrots, and squash. It was the saddest looking plate. They can't answer any questions about allergies and aren't accommodating if you have food allergies. There isn't enough bread rolls per table and the tables water is filled via the bathroom sink...
Pro tip, just stay at your table and enjoy the conversation there. No need to get up and socialize.
This would be a great experience at $40 but at it's price +fees it's actually pretty poor because half the food is inedible and not enough for tables that have 2 people added to it. no variety of apps and only one sad looking desert. For the price you can do an escape room and...
Read moreThe show involves heavy audience participation and the actors DO NOT respect your comfort zones. The first time the actors approached the table to gauge interest in audience participation they were discrete and accepted a polite refusal. However after already stating discomfort with participation they approached again later in the evening, only this time with audience's full attention making it feel very difficult to refuse.
Servers on the other hand were excellent, very polite and in no way contributed to my negative opinion...
