I recently placed an order for a smoked brisket sandwich for pickup. When asked if I wanted a side, I said yes — not realizing the side was an extra $4, as this wasn’t made clear. Additionally, I later noticed an automatic tip charge, which I didn’t authorize.

Anyways I got home and the food was trash yes I mean like it was trash because I had to go get something else I couldn’t eat it. The bread was too oily it’s almost like they soaked it in salted butter, the meat was so dry extra salty not enough of that little green thing they put on there, I’m not sure if it was some kind of lettuce or what, the rice was in little balls it’s almost like they put it in the boiling water and forgot to stir it up sprinkled some dead parsley leaves on it, oh back to the meat it was so salty when I took a bite I had to drink cold water immediately after, whatever sauce that was in there was just colored water like a teaspoon of barbecue sauce in some water or something. I want to say please tell the chef to remember beef needs care respectfully. It’s almost like they microwave the food and throw it in there, but the packaging was fire. I will not asked for my money back but I hope they stop surprising people with the tip policy specifically in this economy just because I can afford 20% on my card doesn’t mean the next person can and for pick up, please think about other people and tell them you charge for sides specially when you offered it to them, polish the customer service you took 20% of my money and you there to serve...

I've been here a number of times for work lunches but today was the last. I was not informed that there is a 3% surcharge for using credit card nor was I told that there was an automatic tip added for a party of two.

If I had known about the surcharge I could have paid cash. I also don't think it's a great idea to have an automatic percentage tip added for a party of two. I almost always give at least 20% and often more. But when it's automatic it's no longer a tip. It took us 15 minutes to get water at the beginning, but I still probably would have given 20%.

It's a matter of principle rather than what I was charged. Be transparent.

When I spoke to the manager calmly about it afterwards he said they have notices on the bar. I shared I didn't sit there but at a table and I didn't see anything nor was I informed. And, after giving my credit card and not being told when she took the card, it came back to me with these charges on it.
