UPDATE: received the dining room furniture today. They were instructed to leave the furniture (6 chairs, table, and server) on covered front porch in boxes. I spoke with 3 people to make sure this was an option as the original delivery man said and was assured it is an option. I received a call while at work that the delivery man was there and no one was answering the door. I told her, that is correct because they are leaving the furniture on the front porch, and it is to stay in the boxes. Fast forward 6 hours later, my husband gets off work to find all pieces on the back porch (walk out basement) and the only thing that was in the box was the table. SERIOUSLY? Luckily it didn’t rain today! But this meant my husband had to carry all the furniture up stairs alone as I am 5 months pregnant and am unable to help him do so!
Communication here is non existent! Also, we got the refund for the TV. Not with any help from Brandon though, my husband called and spoke with a manager otherwise i am sure i would still be awaiting his phone call.
We visited for Big Sandy Superstore in Zanesville Ohio for the first time 1.5 weeks ago. We purchased furniture for our entire living room (2 full sized couches, coffee table, 2 end stands, Tv Stand, and TV) and kitchen (table, matching served, and 6 chairs). Our experience in store was less than desirable as we were there for about 2.5-3hrs and had to convince the salesman to order the server for the kitchen and 2 more chairs as he kept telling us they come in 4’s. After asking 3 or so times he did place the order for 2 additional chairs and the side hutch. Delivery, super quick and was set up for today. Our delivery window was 12-4pm. I got a phone call at 1:15 & my husband returned the call because no one said anything when i answered. We were told they would be at our house in about 15 minutes (this was not the delivery man that my husband spoke to, but someone in store). They showed up at 3:25-3:30, within their window. The first delivery guy i met was super nice and helpful, don’t remember his name, maybe Duane? He was verifying what he had on truck for delivery. The Tv was never on his list to deliver he had no clue. I called the store & was put on hold for 5 minutes to be told that our salesman, Brandon, had just went to lunch & would return my call. Turns out that our kitchen table was damaged when he unboxed it & so was the server. I refused them both and the chairs that came with them & set delivery again. Brandon never returned my call, i called him again 2 hours later to be told that he doesn’t know why they didn’t have it. I needed to verify with him that the Tv was new in box as we were told because i had noticed the invoice said otherwise. He put me on hold & came back to say that yes he told us new in box but the only thing available company wide is floor model. Said we can pick another tv or get out money refunded. I called to find out if the money can be refunded without me having to come in to the store and am still waiting on a call back. They close in 10 minutes and I’m honestly not expecting him to return my call as he didn’t earlier.
I am waiting on the next delivery (re-delivery) and praying that it isn’t also damaged, otherwise we will be seeking our money back and shopping elsewhere. We have 4 more rooms to furnish and i won’t be purchasing another thing from Big Sandy after today. The one delivery guy was super nice, helpful. But this experience has been less than desirable today.
And, because the rest of the experience today, it is worth noting that one piece i did accept was damaged and i noticed as the delivery guys were leaving. I called the store and let them know and was told they can send their service team out to repair... I’m not sure how they would repair a small crack in the end table top and not sure it is worth it since there will be a lamp over it anyway but after the rest of the experience it is worth mentioning that the 1 inch flaw will...

We originally went into the store to find my husband a big boy lift chair, our salesman Jason was very helpful in helping us pick a chair, however it went down hill from there, we picked the chair we wanted in March of 2018. The chair they delivered was the wrong chair so we sent it back, then 2 more times they tried to deliver and guess what? Still the wrong chairs, now pretty well mad I went into the store and picked out a different chair, not the one we originally wanted but was the closest to it, well it lasted about a month or two and the motor burnt up, so again very upset I went back to the store and picked yet another chair, that was the end of October, it was delivered first week of November, well a couple weeks ago it started making noise so I sent a video to our sales rep, he forwarded it to they’re repair department, I waited and never got a response, then about a week and a half ago I started smelling something hot, the next evening my husband who is disabled and lives in his lift chair could not get out of the chair because it stopped working, thankfully my grandsons were home and able to Lift him out of it. We decided to investigate the issue, when turning the chair upside down we discovered the wire under the chair had burnt and melted to the chair, furious I contacted our rep again and sent pictures of what we had found, I was given the number to the repair department, I called and they sent a tech out to checkout the situation, not only was the wire bad in one place but in two places and the motor was burnt up, now imagine if my disabled husband had been in this chair and it caught fire? He never would have been able to get out of the chair!!! I went to the zanesville store angry but was nice about it, and was told it was out of they’re hands!!! 😡 I asked for corporates number which they gave me, I have called 3 times and sent to voicemail each time and still no call back!!!! I am so disappointed with big sandy that I am planning on making some calls to people in higher seats!!!! I need a call and something done satisfactory for the hell we have been through the last 10 Months!!!!!! And no I will not recommend big sandy 😡😡😡...
Read moreWe bought a washer and dryer with warranties for both. When buying the set the employees were friendly enough and quick about it. After a month of having and using (once a week) the washer quit working properly. We contacted the store and they sent a repairman. He came and claimed to have fixed the problem. But he did not. Same problem was there. We contacted the store again. They sent the same repairman and he looked at it again and said it was a different problem and ordered the parts and he'll be back when they came in in a week or so. After 2 weeks we called the store and asked what was going on. They scheduled the same repairman to come. He was late and acted like he didn't want to do his job. When he left he said it was fixed. So I put clothes in and started the washer. Nope not fixed. When I pulled the wet clothes from the washer they were covered in small plastic shavings from where he had to cut a part out. We physically went to the store to ask for our money back for the washer but they refused. They said another place would call us about the refund. They place called and said they don't handle the refunds. We told them that the store said they did. This place said the store handles refunds. We called the store back and told them everything. We got the same guy on the phone when we went to the store in the first place. He said no refunds since we were under warranty. They sent us in a big BS circle. They said best they could do was send someone to fix it. Obviously the one repairman they keep sending is not very good at his job. We showed the employee pictures of the plastic in our clothes and told him everything. He emailed it all to the repairmans workplace. We asked for a different guy to come fix the washer. They said they could do it. But we got the same guy. Still doesn't work right. I will not buy anything else from this store and will not recommend it to anyone.
