Rittberger North Market — Local services in Zanesville

Just an FYI if you live in Newark, Rittberger has opened a new location in Buckeye Lake.

This location is great. It was very clean and the staff was very friendly. Everything is prepackaged so not your typical butcher shop and I found that odd.

We paid the exorbitant amount of money for the Wagyu NY Strip steaks from Crooked Creek Farms here in Licking County being sold by Rittberger. We took them home and grilled them. They were delicious but I'm going to be completely honest, as a home.chef....there isn't that great of a difference from say a great Angus to justify the HUGE cost.

The desserts were yummy and I really liked the macaroni salad from Walnut Creek they sell. Again, I'm not at all sure if anything is from "Rittberger" or if they are a shop selling Ohio goods. Everything there is made in Ohio and that's something I love...

Went in looking for a pork roast to throw on the smoker. They didn't have any on the shelf so we picked up a couple other things and were getting ready to leave when the butcher came out. He asked us what we were wanting, then he went back and cut us a fresh pork shoulder for our get together!

This is a great meat market! The staff inside was so helpful they were able to help me out and special order a piece of meat that I have been looking for everywhere in town.
