Donatos Pizza — Restaurant in Ohio

A huge shout out to Chris and the entire Zanesville team. I live in Florida and my brother was in Genesis cancer ward and was craving Donatos pizza. I ordered what he wanted to be delivered to his room. Unfortunately, the staffing issues have hit almost every restaurant in one way or another. This location had a driver shortage and they used DoorDash to make the delivery. Even though they instructed them that it needed to be delivered to the room, it was not. I called Chris to find out what happened with the delivery and he told me that even though he instructed them to deliver it to the room, they could have put it in a general area with his name on it. I called the hospital to track the order down and they got it to the correct room. It was not entirely cold and to a cancer patient that loves Donatos, he was still thrilled to have it. I called Chris back to let him know that it was located and taken to his room. I did not complain about the circumstances, but Chris’ humanity took over and he insisted on getting an equal value of food to my brother the next day. First time I've had Donato's pizza. The pizza overall has a very good flavor, definitely stands out from other pizza places. I know it's thin crust style and it wouldn't have a lot of sauce but it could have used a little more than what was on our pizza, but not that big of a deal. The marinara sauce is thicker than most other places but tastes great. The cheese bread was very good, the flavor of the different cheeses used stands out. Visited during a weekday evening, and it was lightly busy for dine-in. The staff was friendly while taking my order, and they were prompt to greet everyone who came through the door, even if they couldn’t immediately take their order. I was pleased to see that they had planted-based sausage, and it ended up being a delicious add to the two pizzas I ordered! I was able to get a small, personal-sized pizza without cheese since I’m lactose intolerant. The staff made sure to specifically mark my order to ensure my order was made correctly.
