Dunham's Sports — Local services in Zanesville

This store doesn't even deserve the one star, but it was the lowest choice I was offered. I have only been in this store twice but could write 3 pages of negative reviews (seriously) but I'll narrow it down to the couple that really burn my a**. Their price match guarantee is a joke. I found a gun there that I wanted that I knew another store had for $200 less than Dunham's price so I inquired about price match. It was the exact same gun with the exact same model number and I had the printed ad in hand. The first thing the salesman told me was that they probably wouldnt pricematch the gun because the costs were so far off..which should not matter with a PRICE MATCH GUARANTEE right? Well I told him that so the salesman got the manager and the first thing that came out of the managers mouth was that they will not price match that gun because the advertised price was too much lower than theirs. I told him that that was false advertisment and he proceeded to tell me that maybe its not the exact same gun, they might have different stamps on them (???) and that there was no way that he could tell that the guns were exactly the same, (even though the item numbers were exactly the same). Long story short, they have an excuse to get out of every GUARANTEE they offer .I ended up driving to the other store which was further away and purchased the gun from much better people at a far better price. Dunhams are classic price gougers..how can one store sell something for $259 and Dunhamns sell the exact same item for $460 ?!?!? There should be regulations against this but it blows my mind that it is completley allowed. Another thing...the first trip I made to this store was an early weekday morning, the store was practically empty of customers and I made my way back to the gun counter to check out their selection of guns. Well my wife and I were the only customers in the department and the guy acted like he didnt want to give us the time of day. It seemed like every question we asked just took too much of his energy to answer. In short the service that day was horrible. Oh yeah one more tidbit...to handle one of their guns you have to give the guy your license??? I have literally been to every gun shop within a 3 hour drive of my house and I have never in my life been required to give someone my license to check out a gun. Purchased a gun and the girl helping me had never done it by herself so she called for help. A guy kinda talked her through it and I asked if it came with a case and he told me yes but didn't know what kind of case. Then the girl accidently messed up my middle and first name so another girl came to help her. They couldn't figure it out so had to call for more help. This whole time I was so understanding and nice. Then they had printer issues and it ended up taking an hour for this process. So everything's done and I take the gun home and they left the store lock on it so then I had to go back to the store. When I get there I tell the guy they also didn't provide the case the other guy told me came with it for him to tell me that it doesn't come with one? Didn't try to make anything right for me😪 Training obviously is an issue and if a customer is told something like that then you should make it right and at least provide some sort of case. So between the extra drive and all almost 2 hours of my day and I will take our money somewhere else for...

I went in here to purchase some new golf shoes. This was my first visit to any Dunhams store. As I entered, I glanced around and to my right and see the golf equipment and supplies. As in my experience with other stores, everything related would be located in this area. Not so. I asked the cashier for information on the location, and she said they are in the shoe department. Okay, I thought, shoes alright. So anyway I look in the shoes and after going around the shoe department five times, I look off towards another area and here are maybe six or seven selections. Not exactly the best selections, IMO. The more I thought about it, I became more irritated. I had almost left because I couldn't find any golf shoes in a huge sporting store. IMO, it should not be that hard to locate an item such as that! They should use a different approach to their marketing efforts when it comes to things...
