Who doesn't like to rummage through bargain bins and oddball merchandise?
For most, a trip to Ollie's is akin to a scavenger hunt. You have a shopping list, or a virtual one in your head. But, you know darn good and well that you just might find something NOT on your list. Something really COOL. Something you didn't think you needed, or wanted...until you see it at Ollie's, at a discounted price.
I admit I like drifting down the aisles of oddities. I enjoy eyeing the inventory. You never know what you'll find. But buy it now, cuz it may not be a stocked item on your next trip!
I do have one minor complaint. I've never done a return to Ollie's, until yesterday. The Return Desk is just one of the regular Check Out lanes. There was a line. So, when I finally got to the cashier I explained I had a return, plus I was buying another Ollie goodie. The clerk was being helped by another clerk. They asked if I had an Ollie's Card? Not sure what that had to do with my return, I answered No. They proceeded to issue me one. I said I didn't care for one, but they continued anyways. They asked for my email address, to which I said No. They asked for my phone number, to which I said No.
Hey, I'm just trying to return an unsafe cat toy, valued at $6.99. I don't want OR need anymore spam in my email box, or texts. Please. Then they asked for my Driver's License. I was a bit miffed at this point but I know quite a few businesses ask for that while making a return, so I obliged. No problem.
As I was leaving the one clerk was very nice and pleasant to me. I think she kinda understood my feelings. I JUST wanted to do a...
Read moreHad a horrible experience today in store with the check out person named Dom, we shop here weekly all of our families as well. I went in today with me and my two kids to buy a whole bunch of skateboarding stuff to pass out for charity. There was a cooler there that we wanted to buy, and we have bought in the past. This time there was no price tag, he had another cashier named Melissa come over and she made up the price of $100 off the top of her head with no way of backing it up when in the past we bought that same cooler, it was 39.99. Melissa and Dom then called someone else that wasn’t even working and was at home and they said the price was still $100 with no way of actually showing the true price or with no SKU numbers. They We’re super rude about it so we put the two carts full of stuff we had back and I asked for the manager‘s name and number, etc. and theirs as well, he said he’s just a cashier and just ignored me and my kids like we weren’t there and kept checking other customers while cussing under his breath, i’m very surprised that he works there with the anger issues he has and how aggressive he got while cussing to customers with kids, like I said we come here all the time and never had a problem, but today was very horrible experience with Dom and Melissa unfortunately. Also all the skateboarding stuff that we were gonna pass out for charity we put back because of this situation and I know that stuff sells fast so we won’t be able to get none of that stuff back to pass it out for kids that could use it to keep them out of trouble and occupied at the...
Read moreWas there today to try to buy a vacuum cleaner that was on display but the cords are all gone I asked the clerk Valerie who promptly told me that it probably didn’t come with a cord. So when I was checking out I asked another clerk name Nancy who is very helpful and she called for Amanda the store supervisor who handles this kind a thing. As Amanda was exiting her office Valerie stopped her and took her into the back office for a good minute and then came back out and asked where is the customer that needs help. I then promptly said I was looking for the cord from one of the vacuums that was on display. Amanda immediately told me so they probably didn’t come with a cord or they were cut but she never even bothered to look. And What’s funny is that I told the clerk Nancy that Amanda was going to give me the same story As Valerie when they both walked out of the office together. Sure enough... the place was a mess could barley walk through the isles and all the carts were outside where I had to get one. Ugh I guess I will try tomorrow and have someone else that cares about the customer and...
