Bujna roślinność, kolorowe kwiaty i starannie zaaranżowane kompozycje zieleni tworzą kontrast z surowością wapiennych ścian.
Łączy w sobie naturalne piękno z elementami historii i architektury.

“Peaceful Spot with Wonderful Staff”
Szinaw Waterfall is a calm and enjoyable place to visit, perfect for relaxing in nature. The staff here are incredibly warm and respectful.
One of them was driving up to the upper part of the forest, and when I asked if he could give us a ride, he kindly agreed without hesitation. He was very friendly and helpful, even though he didn’t speak English.
Overall, it was a lovely experience, and I highly recommend visiting this beautiful spot

The waterfall was created during the construction of the Lillafuredi Palace Inn, the Szinva, or Lillafuredi waterfall, which with its hight of 20 meters is the highest vertical waterfall in the country. It is one of the most beautiful and most visited places at the gate off Bukk mountain range, next to Lake Hamori and Hotel Palace. An unmissable program if you are nearby.

If you're in the Miskolc area this is definitely worth a visit. It's one of the nicest castles I've seen in Hungary; this medieval castle was a favourite holiday residence of Hungarian kings and queens.
The castle was renovated between April 2012 and 2014 and instead of a historic castle ruin, visitors can now visit an old, remodeled castle.
The castle features a special feature of informal cognition; the visitors can experience the atmosphere of the medieval castle freely, trying all of the things. In addition to the interactive content, reenactors dressed in timeless outfits, as well as spaces on the ground floor that showcase everyday life, contribute to the atmosphere.
As a quick reference for the origin of the name: Dió means walnut, referring to the abundant walnut trees in the area. Győr is an archaic version of the word gyűrű, meaning "ring". It probably refers to the rounded shape of the first castle erected on the hill.
The first castle was probably built in the 12th century, but destroyed during the Mongol invasion. The castle that stands today was most likely erected in the times of King Béla IV, in the 13th century.
The castle had its prime during the reign of Louis I (Louis the Great). In 1364 the nearby town Miskolc was annexed to the Diósgyőr estate. Diósgyőr lost some of its importance when the political union between Hungary and Poland ended.
In 1596, the Ottomans occupied the area; Diósgyőr remained under Turkish occupation, ruled by the Pasha of Eger until 1687, when this part of the country was freed from Turkish rule. By this time the castle lost all of its military importance.

This castle from medieval went through a lot and despite of stormy history and hard periods been saved in a good condition for the visitors.
Outside a lot of parking lots available free of charge. The entry costs between 750-1500 HUF depending of your age and activities (if you're student etc.)
Inside you can find a permanent exhibition, wine shop, souvenir shop and an authentic coiner if you wish to get copy of an old coin and take it for memory.
The place is kid friendly and family friendly. Not only for history lovers.
Occasionally they organise knight tournaments and other different interesting activities for people of all ages.
Absolutely worth to visit.

Takes you back in time. Beautiful medieval themed castle with lots of interactive games and displays telling the story and history of the old king Lajos and the castle. You can visit the armoury, the rooms and courts, the hunters room with trophies of animals killed, the alchemist's room (which pretty much looks like a pharmacognosy lab without a microscope) and many other sites, most of which have interactive games and descriptions in English and German alongside Hungarian.
..and there's the amazing rooftoop view too plus and endless list of souvenirs to collect.

This is an old ruin which has been renovated to make it safe for visitors to walk around. Now it is in all its glory and is great for people of all ages, including children, to get a feel of the majesty and history of the castle. There are tour guides dressed in authentic costumes of the day to educate the visitors, but you can walk around on your own if you wish.
There are interactive screens with puzzles and scripts of information for you to browse through.
There is a gift shop and café also. You could spend up to 1-2 hrs here and it's not expensive.

We visited this nice small ZOO on 5.6.2024. That day (wednesday) the ZOO was almost empty, so we could enjoy our special moments with the animals. Most of the animals are used to people and they come very close to you. It is very tempting to touch them (Please, do not do it!) :-) You can see there parrots, lamas, farm animals, but also monkeys, meerkats, bears, jaguars, tigers, lions and more!
There is a small shop with ice cream etc. The old man serving people there could speak English and even some Czech words. It was very nice. It is true that the area needs more financial support but it's still worth spending free time there... so I hope you will visit this ZOO after reading my review and support them. :-)
If you are accommodated in Miskolctapolca, take bus 20 / 20A, get off the bus in the center and take the tram 1V and get off at the last station Felsö Majláth. From there you can take ZOO bus but be sure to check the timetable because it is not a regular bus. We walked up the hill to the ZOO from the station and then back. It was a nice (cca 40-minute) walk on the outskirts of Miskolc.
We bought 24-hour Miskolc pass tourist card (2x 7990 HUF) which includes ZOO entry and public transport (and many more free services and discounts).

Well, it was the first time going to the zoo (I know 😔). I was there for about an hour and some minutes. The walk up? Beautiful and took about 15 minutes from the trolley stop. I don't know how much you guys pay cause I had bought the Miskolc tourist pass/card thingie. I don't know how to compare this zoo as it was my first ever visit. It was okay. I was heart broken by the tigers (honestly, I was an emotional wreak), the bears were cute (of course) but the staff was not really smiley smiley (does it make sense?) but I sort of enjoyed it

The place was very good for family and kids. Good range of animals and very different from Budapest or Debrecen Zoo as it's more a feel to walk inside forest and animals and seen more near. People at entrance are very kind, specially those at souvenir shop they gave free lockers to keep our luggage it's important as in zoo there is no trolley for rent. Use miskolc 24 hour or 72 hour pass which is always cheap and best

Even in the winter season, a lot of animals could be seen. The zoo doesn't seem large but you can easily walk around for at least two hours. Feeding time is around 1pm, and I recommend following the path of the small truck to get a close look of the feeding animals by the fences. The tickets are pretty cheap too.

Nice clean place enjoyable environment. Easy guide through the map. Wide range of animals kept clean and looked healthy I was happy to see that. There is some new additions since my last visit I will always return. Staff polite and friendly. You can buy animal food at the entrance in the gift shop. 😊
