This establishment has a great array of beers wines and spirits. It serves better than average food in the 'pub grub' category. It gets very busy on Fridays and Saturdays in particular. The prices are so kind to paupers, that even I can feast there. Actually, I use it for Breakfasts which are excellent value and large enough to properly fill 'the hole'. It is older clientele in the daytime and then the younger element appear at the end of the working day. There is plenty of room throughout the day. Saturday evenings even the up stairs gets filled up. If you are not 'too good at stairs' ASK for a key to the downstairs toilet which permits access for wheelchair users too. You should be mindful of the stairs and alcohol consumption. Many a fit and healthy youngster has found out the hard way that Gravity can have grave consequences. Do not wear 4 inch heels to attempt to scale the stairs! Sensible footwear is derigeur. (absolutely a must have). The choice available for Real Ale drinkers is exceptionally good. A friend usually quaffs half a dozen or so and begins by an exploratory pint of each one and then settling on his preference. He develops a warm glowing personality as the process proceeds. So, the evidence would indicate a high quality across the 'field' available. The prices are enough to bring a smile to any Real Ale drinkers face! Want to party ladies.? Why not try their pitcher deals. But don't blame me for the consequences, but they do get the night out 'moving...
Read morePretty sure they're having a bad morning.
Arrived to complaints from a table that they've served them cold eggs and the breakfast is wrong for the second time. However, decided to push on regardless.
Ordered as you'd expect, to be told the coffee machine is having issues with milk so only black coffee or tea at the moment. That's fine black coffee is fine!
Get to the machine and it's down. We wait patiently for 5 or 10 minutes but nobody comes to close it (on some kind of cleaning cycle which had just been left). Another brave soul then approaches the machine only to be told it's not working. At all.
We take this as a sign to go back to the bar and query this. Only to be told they can still do tea... Don't want tea...
Refund requested for the breakfast (initially seemed to just want to refund drinks, yummy dry breakfast for us) which was a bit of an ask. The bar worker couldn't do it. The manager came, set it up and then the bar worker botched it. Tried to refund wrong (cheaper) order before eventually getting it right another 10 mins down the line (not his first till trying it on either). Rest of staff munching on toast behind the bar (at least someone had breakfast, they were probably limited to tea though)
Service was horrible, never received an apology, generally won't be returning. They also continued selling the coffee to other customers as 'It'll probably be...
Read moreWe had driven from Southwest Wales and stayed one night in a hotel close to this wetherspoon outlet on 26 Feb 2020. We had a couple of drinks at this outlet that same night where my husband sat on one of the sofa and I sat on the chair. We got home the next day and my husband started complaining of itchy spots on his back (just above the waist belt area), on his calf and his arm. The red swells were so itchy that it was driving him mad, till today (please see photos attached). So we called the hotel this morning to check if it could have been the bed. The staff was very professional in handling our call and followed up to confirm that they've check the bed and the room that we had stayed and it was clean. So the only other place we had been to during that 2 days was this wetherspoon outlet. So my husband called them (on 6 Mar 2020 at 10.30am). The lady who answered the call was very impolite and the first thing she said was "do you have proof? no one else had complaint". When my husband said "don't speak to me like that, I am just calling to inform you of this and yes I have proof cause the bites are still there", "can I speak to your manager?" and she said she is the duty manager. Not wanting to deal with such impolite unprofessional attitude, my husband just ended the...
