Went into Wetherspoons starving and I thought they would fulfill my hunger, they did but at what cost. First of all there was no friendly welcome and when I entered I thought it would be packed ( I was wrong , barely anyone). When I sat down we ordered and drinks arrived in no time but the food wasn’t the same , supposedly only a 7 minute wait turned into 27 minutes On the 10 minute mark an employee entered our vicinity and said “ we don’t have peppercorn sauce” ( you need peppercorn sauce for steak) so we agreed to trade it for onion rings. Sadly after my excitement the dishes were served and the plates were looking lovely but the worst was yet to come . After that moment I was excited to dig into my medium rare steak but I was greeted by a burnt , well done steak. The seasoning on it tasted like papa johns pizza you get in a caravan park but I had to eat. Shortly after an employee spotted me curious of what happened and she asked if we wanted it recooked, I had to be polite and said it was fine but it was most certainly not fine. I also noticed the chips were a bit raw and hard. Overall the experience was amateur at best and I was saddened Wetherspoons was such a disappoint.

Excellent lunch. I visited alone but felt completely comfortable. The atmosphere was welcoming and peaceful, a relaxing place for an older woman to take herself off to lunch when she lives by herself. I ordered the scamp and chips which were delicious - as was the coffee. I even ordered a dessert which is unusual for me: bread and butter pudding with custard. It tasted homemade although I know it wasn't. However, it was absolutely delicious. Full marks to Y Dic Penderyn in Merthyr Tydfil. True to its heritage, Y Dic Penderyn offered a truly Welsh options' menu which was well thought out. For other diners, you can choose from a Vegan/Vegetarian menu, a gluten free menu, as well as a choice of other menus - as shown in one of my photos. Truly, all customers' tastes catered for.

Holding a weatherspoons to a high standard - there was no Guinness logo so how is it possible for me to split the G? Instant minus 2 stars. On the food however, chicken wings was a great filler, not crispy. (My girlfriend makes better chicken wings)(*she was looking over my shoulder writing this)The burger was built from the finest Welsh beef and definitely not imported. The atmosphere had people falling over with joy (quite literally a lady passed out) If you are after a quick feed to fill your boots before exploring other local venues, this will do the job.

This establishment has a great array of beers wines and spirits. It serves better than average food in the 'pub grub' category. It gets very busy on Fridays and Saturdays in particular. The prices are so kind to paupers, that even I can feast there. Actually, I use it for Breakfasts which are excellent value and large enough to properly fill 'the hole'. It is older clientele in the daytime and then the younger element appear at the end of the working day. There is plenty of room throughout the day. Saturday evenings even the up stairs gets filled up. If you are not 'too good at stairs' ASK for a key to the downstairs toilet which permits access for wheelchair users too. You should be mindful of the stairs and alcohol consumption. Many a fit and healthy youngster has found out the hard way that Gravity can have grave consequences. Do not wear 4 inch heels to attempt to scale the stairs! Sensible footwear is derigeur. (absolutely a must have). The choice available for Real Ale drinkers is exceptionally good. A friend usually quaffs half a dozen or so and begins by an exploratory pint of each one and then settling on his preference. He develops a warm glowing personality as the process proceeds. So, the evidence would indicate a high quality across the 'field' available. The prices are enough to bring a smile to any Real Ale drinkers face! Want to party ladies.? Why not try their pitcher deals. But don't blame me for the consequences, but they do get the night out 'moving...

Pretty sure they're having a bad morning.

Arrived to complaints from a table that they've served them cold eggs and the breakfast is wrong for the second time. However, decided to push on regardless.

Ordered as you'd expect, to be told the coffee machine is having issues with milk so only black coffee or tea at the moment. That's fine black coffee is fine!

Get to the machine and it's down. We wait patiently for 5 or 10 minutes but nobody comes to close it (on some kind of cleaning cycle which had just been left). Another brave soul then approaches the machine only to be told it's not working. At all.

We take this as a sign to go back to the bar and query this. Only to be told they can still do tea... Don't want tea...

Refund requested for the breakfast (initially seemed to just want to refund drinks, yummy dry breakfast for us) which was a bit of an ask. The bar worker couldn't do it. The manager came, set it up and then the bar worker botched it. Tried to refund wrong (cheaper) order before eventually getting it right another 10 mins down the line (not his first till trying it on either). Rest of staff munching on toast behind the bar (at least someone had breakfast, they were probably limited to tea though)

Service was horrible, never received an apology, generally won't be returning. They also continued selling the coffee to other customers as 'It'll probably be...

We had driven from Southwest Wales and stayed one night in a hotel close to this wetherspoon outlet on 26 Feb 2020. We had a couple of drinks at this outlet that same night where my husband sat on one of the sofa and I sat on the chair. We got home the next day and my husband started complaining of itchy spots on his back (just above the waist belt area), on his calf and his arm. The red swells were so itchy that it was driving him mad, till today (please see photos attached). So we called the hotel this morning to check if it could have been the bed. The staff was very professional in handling our call and followed up to confirm that they've check the bed and the room that we had stayed and it was clean. So the only other place we had been to during that 2 days was this wetherspoon outlet. So my husband called them (on 6 Mar 2020 at 10.30am). The lady who answered the call was very impolite and the first thing she said was "do you have proof? no one else had complaint". When my husband said "don't speak to me like that, I am just calling to inform you of this and yes I have proof cause the bites are still there", "can I speak to your manager?" and she said she is the duty manager. Not wanting to deal with such impolite unprofessional attitude, my husband just ended the...
