I loved Veranda Mangalem—it’s a charming, family-run place perched above Berat with one of the best panoramic views in town

The focus is on delicious traditional Albanian cuisine, served in hearty portions that blend local flavors with a welcoming terrace atmosphere

Traditional favorites like stuffed peppers (speca të mbushur), fergese, tave kosi, and Albanian meatballs were rich in flavor and cooked exactly like homemade

The menu also features fresh salads, local cheeses (marinated vegetables and roasted white cheese), and excellent vegetarian options

Friendly, family-style service from staff who shared stories of Berat and the cooking traditions—made the experience feel personal and authentic

I stumbled upon this place while exploring the old streets of Mangalem, and it turned out to be the highlight of my entire trip to Berat. Bar Restaurant Veranda is more than just a place to eat – it’s an experience.

The location is unbeatable – perched high above the city, with a calm breeze and 360° views that make you want to sit and stay forever. Whether you come for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the atmosphere is peaceful and the surroundings are picture-perfect.

The menu offers a great variety of dishes, from traditional Albanian favorites to modern Mediterranean touches. Every bite felt fresh and flavorful. I especially loved how relaxed and clean everything felt – you can tell the owners put a lot of love into this place.
