​We recently had the pleasure of staying at Blen Grand in the historic city of Berat, Albania, and it was an absolutely beautiful experience from start to finish. This is truly a hidden gem that offers a perfect blend of tranquility, comfort, and Albanian hospitality. ​The hotel’s surroundings are gorgeous, providing an immediate sense of peace. The highlight for me was the magnificent front garden, a serene space that truly gives the property a peaceful, almost magical atmosphere. ​Our room was impeccably neat and tidy, a testament to the care taken by the hosts. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring deep rest after a day of exploring. The room was perfectly equipped with every need, including mini-fridge, efficient air conditioning, and a spacious, clean bathroom. Best of all, we were treated to a private balcony offering a simply wonderful view—the perfect spot for morning coffee or an evening reflection. ​The atmosphere throughout the property is refreshingly quiet, and the experience is enhanced by the genuinely nice people who own the property. Their warmth and attention made us feel completely at home. ​The included breakfast exceeded our expectations; it was delicious, plentiful, and a fantastic way to start the day. My stay at Blen Grand Hotel and Restaurant in Berat was more than just a hotel experience — it felt like staying with family. The place itself is beautiful, clean, and perfectly located, but what truly made it unforgettable was the warmth and generosity of the people behind it.

This is a family-run hotel, and every single member of the family went out of their way to make me feel welcome. From the moment I arrived, there was a genuine sense of care — not just service, but real, heartfelt hospitality.

I have to give special love to as they made me feel like I was part of their home, not just a guest. Always smiling, checking in to see if I was comfortable, offering help or just a sweet chat — they made my time in Berat feel incredibly special. You can truly feel how much love they put into every detail, from the way they greet you to the way they serve each dish with pride.

The restaurant was also incredible — homemade, delicious meals served with the same love and care as everything else even if you’re a vegetarian like me! I looked forward to every bite and every conversation.

Bianco was the friendliest host I've yet to meet, nothing was past his accommodating attitude and, to quote his own words, 'don't worry, my friend, you're home.'

The rooms are spacious and everything works within them, with an ensuite. The place itself is lovely, the garden is huge and pleasant to sit in and the bar, whilst minimal, is perfectly functional. The raki made by the father is one of the best I managed to sample in Albania, and Bianco even offered me a couple free ones to try it. The place is about a 10/15 minute walk from the town centre and very easy to get to.

We breakfasted in the garden, spent the day around Berat (amazing city, by the way), and both said breakfast and previous dinner were, again, some of the best food I'd had here (I'd recommend the fergese especially). If you're fortunate to be staying or passing through the area, this is exactly the place you want to stop at.

Should I come back to Albania for further holidays I will absolutely be staying here. Also, before you make plans in the area, speak to Bianco as he is extremely knowledgeable about a lot of activities you can do here and knows a lot of the guides personally. Cheers for the good...
